<Mighty Joe Travis> Excellent call! Did you get any help with that from <Sir Edward Gibbon>? I haven't seen him around for awhile. I can't wait for <KONG: SKULL ISLAND> but here in Korea they showed us the "B-side" trailer, which you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybF... |

<Teem> Yes <Harry S Truman> (really) I remember that story well. I think I mentioned this before but I was actually woken up by <Mount Ape> exploding, though I was at least 400 miles away. We were fishing up in Mission, BC and we were woken in the morning by a low "whump" sound and the sides of our tent compressed in from two sides, as if wind had hit it from both directions at once. Only the next day did we lern from the noose papers that <Mt. Ape> had exploded at the same time we heard the "whump." |

| Apr-24-17 | | Boomie: <Jess Gone Fishin': We were fishing...> Excellent story. My slide rule says you weren't born yet, but still... The initial explosion was probably the loudest noise this side of Krakatoa. A pressure wave 400 miles away, though, is a bit much, eh? Perhaps you could move the location of the fishing trip to the Okanagan. And maybe pick an eruption sometime after your conception. Otherwise, excellent tale of adventure in the wild. |

Heh you never fail to earn your well-deserved reputation as "one of the sharpest guys around here," as your cousin <Martinez> once characterized you. I will make you a promise though- any time you suspect I'm telling a tall tale, feel free to bust me. I'll always tell you the truth. It's the same deal I have with my students. I told them if they say "Is that really true teacher?" I will always tell them the truth. Luckily, they rarely ask the question, so a whole generation of Korean kids now march boldly towards the future, secure in the knowledge that <Justin Beaver's> mother is a human, but his father is actually a beaver. Hence his adoption of the patrilineal moniker "Beaver." Scientific proof: https://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.ne... |

| Apr-25-17 | | Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen: well-deserved reputation...> You are way too generous with me, as usual. But I'm a sucker for flattery so lay it on thick. In this case, however, I blundered by treating your story pedantically. Gort, I hate that, especially when I do it. Did I get the *Clap* clue right and what did I win? |

<Kittitas> I call shenanigans! Although I respect you too much to GOBBLE it. That would be "jejune" as <Doggimus> used to say. Actually I recently remembered what he labeled "jejune"- he wasn't talking about GURGLING, he was talking aboot a chess game. I had posted a game I was proud of, and <Doggimus> gave it the once over with his eye and pronounced it "good game" and went on to say, "I'd run it through my chess engine, but that would be jejune." Ironically, I quickly misremembered what he had posted, thinking that he had said GOGGLING was "jejune." That is the reason that, to this day, I still don't know what the word "jejune" means. That said, I still refuse to GABBLE it, on general principles. <Doggimus> is invited to post still further corrections, if necessary. |

| Apr-25-17 | | Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen: <Kittitas> I call shenanigans!> You lose on the technicality that you are wrong. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitti... I would never soil your forum with shenanigans, which, I believe, are Irish nannies. |

Arggh I'm too late again- I was aboot to GOBBLE "Washington State counties list" but I got sidetracked by analyzing candidate moves in the two (2) correspondence chess games I'm in the middle of. That was the dumbest idea I've had in years, to get back into correspondence cheese. |
