<Hozza> I've watched this reel of <Saint Frank> more than a few times. Probably you know it too- his hit at 0:27 is immortal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwN...

Jul-18-18  Boomie: <Jessichu: <Alexander Pikachu>>

That certainly gives Pokémon a whole new meaning.

Although how can you tell with actors, Peter Falk seems to have been a regular guy. After directing him in "Pocketful of Miracles", Frank Capra said about him "The entire production was agony ... except for Peter Falk. He was my joy, my anchor to reality. Introducing that remarkable talent to the techniques of comedy made me forget pains, tired blood, and maniacal hankerings to murder Glenn Ford (the film's star). Thank you Peter Falk."

Falk was from Brooklyn which in part explains his vocal similarity to Bogart. One day Falk was walking around his neighborhood and passed an art studio where a class was in session. He thought to himself "Hey. I could do that." So he signed up for classes and became an accomplished artist. It seems he was a Hollywood rarity, a genuine person.

Yo <Jezza> pretty awesome! I'm just hoping he brings some of his/this magic into our midfield ! lol

The immortal question. Lampard or Gerrard ??

<Hozza> Good question and this is a lifelong problem for footy fans.

I'm going to have to go with <Gerrard> because I like Liverpool so much more than Chelsea.

I hope Chelsea gets relegated next season and Derby gets promoted.

I'm gonna have to take you into EXTRA TIME here and say the question has to be addressed as one does a Lampard free kick on the edge of the box ..

Clinical, clean, and pure, with nothing else in the way..

Magic Frank v Stevie G with clubs' out of the equation.. ?

I'm going for <Magic Frank> . Just!

Jul-19-18  harrylime: BTW I hope Chelsea get relegated too ! How cool would that be lol lol

Fook Chelsea ! lol Liverpool anyday ...

But our manager's best was for them ect ...

Jul-19-18  Boomie: Concerning Gabriology, I stumbled on this factotum: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_L...

He scored "The Last Temptation of Christ". Although I haven't seen the movie or heard the score, y'all might want to listen in on it.

BTW - The novel by Kazantzakis is one of the finest I've ever read. I rank it high among the best novels ever written and recommend it to everyone. When I read it, I was struck with the potential for a great movie. The novel is visually stunning.

jessicafischerqueen: <tbon> I hadn't heard that Pete video before- I may have missed most of the 90s, though that video looks 1980s style to me.

Of Pete's solo videos I prefer "Games Without Frontiers" featuring Robert Fripp on guitar here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xZ...

The "Digging in the Dirt" track is good though and nowadays if someone made a video that compared dealing with your ex wife as if you were swatting a fly, they might get attacked by the "me too" movement.

I enjoyed watching it myself.

<Costello> "Chelsea" song is a great track from very early in his career, close to a punk song but I guess the beginning of "post punk" or "new wave."

Why didn't they have a "nude wave" movement I might have got behind that.

<Hozza> on footy alone it's close but I'm still going with "Little Stevie" Gerard.

Here are two highlight reels of Gerard to help compare:

<Tim> I'm surprised you haven't seen the movie, but this is coming from someone who didn't even know there was a "book."

My generation aren't really "readers" per se. The only books we read are "books based on the movie" which is pretty sad if you think about it too long.

The movie is by "Marty Scorcese" and features a good turn by "Willem Dafoe" as well. I liked it anyways. I liked every Scorcese film as far as I can remember.

Either I didn't know or I don't remember that <Pete Gabriel> Scoredcese's "Last Temptation of Christ."

<Hozza> don't forget <Saint Stephen> is also a gaffer now too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rA...

I predict <Saint Frank> and <Saint Stephen> continue their grand footy competition as world historical gaffers.

Jul-20-18  Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen: My generation aren't really "readers" per se.> Don't give me that "We're so cool 'cause we don't read" schtick.

I'm not sure what that means but it sounds funny so is fay dinkum.
