<Stoned Hedge> Thank you, that will provide further biographical details on the prodigy nobody remembers.

<Rudolf Kassel> is not in our database yet.

<Steve> told me we won't be able to process correction slips that create new player names until the next update though. So I'll wait until then before giving the lad his full name. I wonder if I can find any more games by him under his full name. He was only 12 when he drew that simul game with <Bogoljubov>.

==============

<But the software thinks that CG still has those games, and didn't process it.>

Last week I ran in to the same problem- I reported it to <Steve> so he is aware of it. But I hope you also report the details of your case to him- the more feedback he gets, the better the next update of the <Corrector processor> will be amirite.

  Stonehenge: Yes, I will give him some feedback one of these days. Does he like crab sandwiches?

You can make a correction slip for Kassel (bad name) and then process it yourself.

Regards,

Raymond Luxury-Yacht

(pronounced <Throatwobbler Mangrove>, mind you).

I remember him he ran against <Sir Kevin Phillips Bong> (slightly silly party) in the St. Albins on Stoat by-election.

I cast my vote for <f'tang f'tang Ole Biscuit Barrel> though.

Ah, yes!

A shame he only got 73,904,195 votes.

Do you remember how many votes <Sir Kevin Phillips Bong> got?

"nought"

Yes, I know what you mean. Everyone wants to keep giving <Stan & Ollie> another chance because he has a baby face, and could at any time reward our faith with that killer smile he keeps close to the surface. We love him and want him to do well. After <Tab>, he is our favourite Norwegian.

Being realistic though, he most likely won’t last long. Inconsistency rages on and it’s hard to comprehend why.

I predicted a long time ago that the Mancs and Totts might swap managers, and I haven’t given up on that quite yet. <Mauricio Pocket Hero> still has no job and … well … keep watching this space.

It was an eye-catching weekend for a few individuals. <Diogo A4 Lined Jota> at Liverpool and <Timo Gurner> at Chelski, were both in blistering form. I was impressed too that <Saka Moolah> and <Declan Rice Crispies> could find such big energy reserves after their International exploits.

I couldn’t have recommended you any standout games though. I only recall that a lot more efforts hit ‘the woodwork’ than ‘the back of the net’.

Prepped only with highlights, I would guess that <Toppin’em Hotspur> were the best show in town, and I continue to be astounded by the progress being made. Is this really the same club that looked so lifeless at the end of last season? Even <Ndumbbell> has been kick-started and now looks like the player they thought they bought originally.

<The Red Devils> kept their best efforts for Wednesday’s game against <Istanbul>. You can witness a ‘screamer’ from the talismanic, Abbatastic <Fernando> and some other ‘tidy’ goalmouth action here …

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwD...

<Cavemani> appeared not to venture out of his cave much during these brief highlights, but I’m told he had a deceptively good game.

Yes that was my match of the week to be sure <Man U> vs. enigmatic Turkish side <SHAKA ZULU>.

<There was something in the air, that night, the moon was bright, Fernando> was man of the match and probably the best on form foreigner (OFF) in the EPL at the moment. On BT Sports (with Fletch and Steve McManhomnanohoman) they showed a close up of <Marcus Aurelius> right after he scored the penalty, and he was actually nuzzling <Ferdinand the Bull> like an old ox. What a grand gesture giving up his hat trick to lend a hand to the young emperor.

I too think <Lake Ponchontrain> would be a good fit for Reds. You could really see what he might do playing for a team that spends lots of money.

He kind of got a raw deal gaffing <Spurs> in the era when <Dan Levy> refused to spend a shilling and the <Spurs> scouting staff had to have been perpetually potted.

I can't see any other explanation for the string of duds <Spurs> bought during the <Ponchontrain> era.

<Thomas Edison Cavemani> makes "those runs" that free up other players, according to <Fletch> and <Steve Mcmahonhompoman>.

I was prepared to accept that, but I would have been more convinced if <Martin Tyler> and <Gary Neville> had said it.

I would indeed like to read Mr. Strummer's manifesto. Post away!>

Joe Strummer Manifesto
Interview by Jason Gross (January 2003)
It was reported on December 23rd, 2002 that Clash singer/songwriter Joe Strummer died of a suspected heart attack at age 50. This interview was done in September 1999 for CD Now, where it appeared in a shorter format. …..
Q: You've always shown a lot of interest in politics in your lyrics. What's your political outlook nowadays? JS: OK, here's my new manifesto. I'm gonna pull out of my pocket one vote. (takes out a dollar). 'He's gotta dollar bill out of his pocket!' What I like to say to anyone who could care to listen to me is that this is our only vote. I'm saying that because we got democrat votes and we voted in this guy two years ago (Tony Blair) and he's become... what he was not supposed to be. We can't get rid of him. Maybe we got a fifteen year run with this guy. What can we do? Fold our tents on the field. We'll lose the battle but not the war. So it occured to me that since my real vote is useless, null and void, therefore we ain'tgonna start runnin' down the street burnin' and a-lootin' either 'cause our ass is gonna get canned. So that leaves the only vote anybody's got, this dollar bill. All I'm trying to say is, when I wanna buy a record, I'm gonna take my dollar bill and go to some corner guy with his weird, kooky little shop. I'm not giving this to Virgin Megastore. The same when I'm going to buy some clothes- I ain'tgonna go to Gap no more. I wanna go to Ditsy Louie's Junk Clothing Box. I'm using my vote here, this dollar bill is my vote. I'm not gonna go to a fast food joint. I'm going to go to a place where people own it, where the owner is standing behind the bar, picking his teeth. This is my new philosophy. Use your vote, your dollar bill is your vote. It's time we stopped giving it in the bucket-loads to these giants corporations. They're not to be trusted with that amount of money. They're only gonna bland us out, robot us out. They're gonna crush us and pulverize us. All they want is our money. They'd rather that we just sat on the pavement, saying nothing and giving them dollar bills. That's what they want the world to be while they have their cocaine and champagne. The dollar bill is your only vote. That's my new vibe.

<Tiggler> What a beautiful manifesto. I live in a small town and I know what he means. I will vote with my dollar. Now if I could only make a dollar I'd really be in business...

I saw The Clash in 1979 in a small venue and what a show. They invited two or three of the most popular Vancouver punk groups to join them on stage and it became a fabulous party. Drunk? You better believe it.

Uncle Joe stipulated several times during the show that we were not to hurl beer bottles at him or spit on him.

On pain of him "taking care of business."

So we went along with that too.

In the early '80s Steve Archibald was the best footballer in England, and also Scotland and any foreign countries he traveled to.

His competition for top honors Trevor Francis and Kevin Keegan.

Science showed that Francis' acceleration to 10 meters was faster than that of the fabled Cheetah.

Trevor Francis' thighs were thicker than Roger Mellie, the Man on the Telly.

<Spurs history fun fact>

How did the legendary Glen Hoddle give such good service to Steve Archibald on the pitch?

On road games he used to practice by delivering Archibald's tea to him in the hotel room.

<Meter Beardsley>

For some reason I remember him as being a midget. But he is actually 1,73 m.

Years ago Stephen Fry was interviewed by a female Dutch journalist. She wanted to know how tall he was, so she asked him (of all people) about his <length>.

Fry, trying not to burst into laughter, answered something like <er, I dunno, six inches or so>.
