Dec-02-20 | | Paint My Dragon: <Port of Diddly Squat> ... sums up <Maradona>'s contribution to the Top League. A barefaced mockery of a list entry. I'm on the official Spurs site and they are playing the EUROPA match against <Emanuel Lasker> but the game is not over yet? I'm listening to the game on "radio" right now and <HUNG MUNG SUNG> has just scored to put Spurs up 2-1. Is there a time delay? Maybe you saw the game in real time on a top secret "St. Albin's" broadcast from your home village of <St. Albins' on Trent>? In future possibly don't post <Spurs> results in here until a day or two later. I generally watch all their matches in full, but they don't get posted online for a day or two. I usually black myself out though so it's not really a big deal. I peeked in today because I wanted to check if <Paint My Dragon> was reeling from the latest onslaught of <Spurs foreigners>. We call them <Spureigners>. |

Yikes. A blend of cricket, bowls, croquet, hoopla and chess, complete with an ice hockey sin bin. And as one punter said … all presented in the style of <Monty Python> crossed with <A bit of Fry & Lawrie>. A tortured recipe that ought not to have produced comedy gold, and yet somehow it did. I first saw this clip a good few years ago – maybe it was <Stonehenge> who posted it then too - but just as funny the second time around. -------------
<Listmania>
Wot, no <Christian Bale> or <Eriksson Mobile>? Ha,ha. Reeling was the right word, in more ways than one. Overall, I scored your list: (drumroll) 4.3 <stars> for sheer audacity, 7½ <house merit points> for clip quality, and 7 <apples> out of a possible 12 <oranges> for correctness. It means that you were neither promoted nor relegated, but qualified comfortably for a place in the <Carabao Cup>. -------------
Incidentally, my favourite Spurs video has to be this one … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_l...
It has everything – nice sharp images, the Queen in a lovely <cherry red ensemble> arriving at her seat with <Blofeld>. Also some great sing-along tunes and a <Greavesie> goal. What more could you want? I even thought that the filming conveyed the excitement far better than they manage nowadays. Perhaps it was the low-down camera angle, which seems to put you in the thick of the action. --------------
Congrats to the <Harry Hotspurs> for another exciting night of Euro footy. I didn’t see it, but read about it on the BBC Sport page. At least they did better than United, who [SPOILER ALERT] …………. …………… flunked their big test with consummate ease, thanks to the crazy antics of <Fred Flintstone> and ridiculous mis-management of <Olly Solzhenitsin>. Of course, on current form, they were never going to trouble Neymar’s PSG too much. |

<PAD>
I watched <ManU v PSG> right after I listened to the Spurs radio show. That was one of the most dramatic matches I have ever seen. I think you might be underestimating the quality Reds showed, at least through much of the game. <CAVALRY CHARGE> was unlucky not to score on his sublime chip, and at that point it looked like the lads were about to surge ahead, if anything. <Flintstone> shouldn't be on the pitch to begin with he should be fired and so should <Joe Hart>. <Holly Golly StreetUrchinson> will not last to the end of the season you heard it here first. The (excellent) Bt Sport commentators would not shut up about how it was <Ole Ole Saltshaerkesn's> fault for not sitting <Flintstone> down after his miraculous yellow card. Good for the ref for not shipping red there. Wrong call by the book, but finally a ref refusing to be bossed around by a video feed. The Bt Sport lads were quick to spot something else- nobody had told the ref where the VAR feed was at pitch level. "Didn't they think it would be a good idea to tell the referee where the TV monitor is" they said. This match had everything, it seems.
<PSG> is monstrous so there's no shame going down to them especially in such an open game. <Veratti> might be the best vicious defender in the league. Easily the dirtiest player ever but he always gets the job done. <M'Bippy> and <Julie Newmar> on the field at the same time? Incredible, especially for the neutral fan. Although I was cheering heartily for Reds. Gaffer has got to go and the sooner the better. Also fire Joe Hart and possibly Jose Merinho. Maybe hire Tim Sherwood. |
|
Dec-04-20 | | Paint My Dragon: <Footy Queen>
Yes, just frustrating. A reasonably even contest first half, but we are losing a lot of home games right now, and that needs to stop very quickly if Ole wants to keep his job. Silly not to take off <Frederico> when all the warning lights should have been flashing. I agree about <Hart 2 Hart>. No way should a club of Tottenham's stature be relying on a 33 year old who was error prone even in his peak. I never understood his long England run, but I guess we weren't overly blessed with goalies back then. <LASKer> looked quite lively this time. They were dreadful in the previous encounter. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Chelsea> handles the dullest football team in Europe without much effort, and it was all down to one of only two women strikers currently starting in the EPL. <Olivia Kangaroo> potted four (4) goals. This was certainly her day, which is why we didn't see any of the other woman striker <Tammy Abraham>. I should point out that there are in total three women currently starting in the EPL. <Larissa Gay>, though not a striker, is all woman. |

SHOCKING SCIENTIFIC FOOTAGE proving that <Joe Hart> is scientifically useless and should be fired forthwith: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aw8... A disgraceful performance, particularly on the second shot he let in. A kindergarten kid or a trained elk could have stopped that shot. |
|
Dec-04-20 | | Paint My Dragon: Yes, I noticed <Chim, chiminy, chim, chiminy, chim, chim, Giroud> had been giving Seville a good thrashing. What to say? Sometimes the ladies just have it.
Agreed. <Kevin Hart> has to go. He's never been the same since the car accident. A trained elk, or even an absent elk ...

BTW, I can recommend this <Matthew McConnnauchghehayey> clip if you have a half hour to waste. Mainly an advert for his book, but an absorbing chat nonetheless ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xda... |

Another fine indie band! You really know your indie bands brah. I also enjoy them, especially those on the soundtracks to the zombie movie <The Battery> and the TV series <Bored to Death>. Thanks for the <McGonnigle> clip. He reminds me of <Russell Brand> a bit, if only for his shirt choice. <Brand>, as we have previously discussed also enjoyed reaching out to <Jordan Peterson>. I only wish <McGonnigle> has a chance to have a public conversation with <Dr. Peterson> so we can listen to it. I think <McGennagol> is well worth listening to on a variety of topics. He's also a superb actor. For me his best performance was <Inspector Gadget> in <Nick Pizza with a nice Gelato's> immortal "True Detective Season 1," meshing perfectly with <Woody Woodpecker> who is no slouch himself. I have enjoyed <Woodpecker> since his days on "Cheers." <McGonnigle> was also stellar in "Dallas Buyer's Club" and the neo-noir crime thriller "Killer Joe." |

<Purloin my Discs> Well you've done it again. I have just "secured" three of <Matthew McGonnigle's> recent films. Seems I have some catching up to do.
I find you and <Hozza> to be very good rreccommenndderrss of worthy cultural items. I think the cg.com "spell check" is out of order so I rebelled against it. I know I was doubling the right letters but it kept "red lining me" so I doubled all of the consonants. Nobody tells me how to spell especially not a machine. |

Dec-05-20 | | Paint My Dragon: <Rebel Yell>
Indeed – I owe a great debt to post-punk and indie music, which illuminated most of my 1980s/90s. Whilst less enchanted with punk itself, I could happily listen to Magazine, The Clash and Siouxsie. During my earlier rock music phase, any pocket money not spent on concert tickets went on vinyl by Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, The Who, Yes, Genesis, Led Zep, Curved Air, ELP and a few others. Unfortunately, unlike most of my friends who kept on listening to the music of their formative years, I was never able to do that. So strange as it may sound, I will only rarely delve back into my older music, even the indie stuff. More usually, I’m on a hunt for new material (various genres, but mostly from Scandinavia). I don’t know how unusual that is, but I am eternally grateful for ultra-cheap Ukrainian download sites. I’ve not watched that many <Muck on the hay> films, but <A Time To Kill> was one that I really enjoyed. Surprisingly, Friday night’s Newcastle-Villa clash was postponed, due to a Covid outbreak. Just been watching another <Royle Fam> episode – S1 Ep5. This one was a step up from 2-4. “Another Woman?” featured a tiff between the betrothed pair. Denise is convinced that something is going on between David and local slag, <Beverly Mackers>. Jim is secretly drinking whiskey for breakfast, while complaining about heartburn – lol. |

That's one of the best ones <Beverly Macca> has the "large assets" a fact that is mentioned every few minutes in the episode. Now *that's* good TV writing. |

I seem to be able to keep listening to the old stuff which is virtually identical to your list, oddly enough. Genesis in particular but only up to <Wind and Wuthering> and usually stopping, a resting at the Live concert Dvd 1975 with Phil <and> Bill Bruford on drums. But mainly I like Peter Gabriel's lyrics especially on Selling England. "Still alone, in oh Hell oh, see the deadly nightshade grow..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxT... |
