Aug-08-11  fab4: Yes 4 AD ! .. Great label, and yeah, that's why I was buying into the Boston indie scene in the late 80's in merry olde Blighty ! lol

I got 'Treasure' and fell in love with it.. but kinda moved onto other things in the mid 80's..

The 'muses' are as under rated as you can get in rock and pop.

I take pride in that I got 'into' certain bands before they became globally renowned. I went to an REM gig in Nottingham on the back of 'Murmur' and 'Reckoning' and there were more people at the bar when they came on stage. I'll never forget that ! I bought 'Murmur' and was into them before 99% of the population knew who they were here..

Anyway ! lol.. This, is an open forum ! lol .

I'll check out your song below. Hope all ok with you.

Yes. It is gorgeous. It's not 'Cocteau Twins' tho .. from a collaborative thing.. I bought the album lol.. Sure, Liz Fraser all the same !

Has a medieval feel.

LIFE Master AJ: <I also don't trust any <Michael Moore> documentary, though I share most of his political views, and I find his films entertaining.

By academic standards, as in actual film classes at actual universities, <Moore> is close to being considered an actual fraud.>

Moore IS a fraud ... a liberal liar.

jessicafischerqueen: <AJ> there are just as many conservative liars. And there are apolitical liars. Religious liars. Atheist liars. Black red white brown green liars.

There's no monopoly on lying.

  LIFE Master AJ: True.

I just hate Moore. He passes his <joke> films off as documentaries, when in fact, he does a lot of "greasing the wheels."

The next great Aussie movie, just released: <Red Dog>.

An Aussie yarn in the best tradition.

Here's a review by Margaret and David, reviewers most awesome (forget rottentomatoes):

Aug-10-11  BishopofBlunder: <jessicafischerqueen: ...There's no monopoly on lying.>

You may be right. But I think my brother-in-law has the market cornered.

Aug-10-11  BishopofBlunder: Back, by unpopular demand, the <<BlunderDome>> is once again open for business.

Stop by for a cocktail. It's on the house. If I'm out, just leave a massage and make yourself to home. Hell, even if I'm there, leave a massage and make yourself to home.

Set a spell. Take you shoes off. Y'all come back now, ya hear?

Hospitality is it's own regret.

Aug-10-11  Jambow: <I just hate Moore. He passes his <joke> films off as documentaries>

<LMAJ> I don't think even the average liberal believes him anymore or should that be anymoore? I tend to dislike conservative liars even more than liberal ones because I'm a conservative myself and credibillity comes at a premium.

I think the irritation I suffer comes from the fact that the media has lost even the pretense of objectivity, constantly slandering conservatives and hopelessly inconsistant. It's like their ratings plummit then the put the mask back on, but it falls right off again. It's tiresome for sure.

Jessica I have been enjoying your clips on youtube keep it up.

Aug-10-11  kellmano: A similar thing hapened recently on the bbc. There is a guy called Jeremy Clarkson who does a TV show about cars, but with a particular right-wing slant. Obviously he loathes it when lberals (in your sense of the word) promote alternatives to environmentally damaging cars, such as electric cars, so when he got one to review on his show he deliberately ran the battery down overnight then 'unexpectedly broke down'. Hilarity ensued.

The funny thing is, when caught red-handed, his response was very much 'that's TV - what do you expect?'.

As soon as the news department became a "for profit" entity, journalism was dead (and not just resting). Now they report what sells, regardless of veracity.

Aug-10-11  Boomie: Since Moore's movies are dripping with irony, I doubt that the contradictions and slants are totally lost on him. Perhaps in addition to panning fat cats and gun lobbies he is also poking fun at the whole idea of documentaries as "truth".

One thing seems certain to me. His movies are for entertainment. Humor should not be taken so seriously. That drains it of meaning.
