Sep-22-08 | | benjinathan: <I asked if he would mind if we transfer analysis of this move to a new forum. This question was not answered.> I am sure I did answer in the affirmative, but I don't know what happened. Hmmm |

Sep-22-08 | | dotsamoht: I guess I do not have to update the sticky since we anticipated 8. O-O-O? Please let me know. |

If you want to be extra neat, you could edit all the forum descriptions so 8. O-O-O does not show since it was already played. However, did you see my note earlier today asking you to specifically mention 8...Qb6 in the description for the other moves forum? |

You do not have to create new marker posts. |
|
Sep-22-08 | | zanshin: <Can you have Rybka assess the position after 8...Bd7? Please exclude 9. f4 and 9. f3.> I'm running this now and will post tomorrow (and maybe tonight for partial results). Of course f3 and f4 would have been the favorites - but right now it's <9.Be2> in the lead (d=18). |

The Summary forum is now operational, and I've put a call out to the members of the committee. |

The <Chess Analysis Tree> is up and running! It was quicker than I thought, but of course I may not have done exactly what everyone had in mind. Come to my forum to read about how to get there, and check it out. Anyone reading this is of course welcome to come and see, add to the tree, and help test it. Please post your comments to my forum. I have started off the tree only with the bare minimum of branches: the ones for which there are forums. Of course, the hope is that any continuation anyone has worked on will be added eventually. I think it will be pretty obvious how to use it. If things go well, you can add my forum to the Forum Central list and make a general announcement. If not, I'll keep working on it. |

I looked at it only very briefly. I will spend more time with it as I am able in the next few days. |

It would seem that <TheDestruktor> and <dotsamoht> have both gone AWOL, which is a bit of a concern given both <kwgurge> and I are quite busy with work presently. I am happy to maintain the forum at all times, but cannot presently do the hard work of compiling the data. What do you suggest? Should we try to find more members for the summary committee? |
|
Sep-26-08 | | truefriends: Why no <9. f3 Qc7> forum? Perfect 14 (strongest rated OB in the world) thinks it is black 'only' move. |
|
Sep-26-08
 | | kutztown46: <whatthefat>
The history of <TheDestruktor> is that he shows up, contributes in a massively significant way, then disappears without a trace for a while, only to reappear later. <dotsamoht>, on the other hand, is not AWOL. He is the one who updates the sticky! Keep trying - I have left messages for him and sometimes it takes him a few days to see the message and sometimes I have to repeat the message. It might help if your committee members would give you their email addresses. That way you could communicate by email. <Lutwidge> seems to be a very effective communicator and a strong player. Why don't you leave a message at his forum and see if he would be interested? |

Sep-26-08 | | jepflast: <kutztown46> Morale is crumbling on the main page! Hopefully the C.A.T. will get ratified just in the nick of time as a positive distraction! They have not seen it yet, though, according to the stats, as of 4:40 PM EDT. |

No need to worry. The team's morale is resilient. We'll be OK. I've not had a response yet. |

Sep-27-08 | | Red October: if preserving the continuity of the analysis is more critical then I do not mind being on the bench next turn, I could make my self useful copying analysis and helping out but of course you are the BOSS!! :) |

Actually, you will be on the bench next turn (unless we play Qc7 - if that happens then continuity will take precedence). Thanks! |

 | | kutztown46: <Dionyseus: <kutztown46> I would like to volunteer my forum for 9...Be7 10.Kb1 Qc7 analysis.> It's always great when someone volunteers to do something to help the team. My challenge, however, is to figure out how to integrate your offer into the existing forum system without causing confusion. Now that 9...Be7 has been played, one of the active forums is for 10. Kb1. It seems that it would confuse the team if we have a forum for 10. Kb1 and another one for 10. Kb1 Qc7. To which of the two forums would a team member direct comments? Similarly, if 10. Kb1 is played, then one of the forums will be for 10...Qc7. If I believe that Qc7 is the black move of greatest interest to the team, then I would keep that forum with the same host that had 10. Kb1 (to maximize continuity). We should not have two forums for the same move. I can think of two possible solutions:
a) Since you are interested in this line, post your analysis at the 10. Kb1 forum. b) Post your analysis on your forum header. I can then ask the Kb1 forum host <classF> to provide a link in his forum header to your forum. In either case, posts on this variation would be directed to the regular forum, not yours. Do either of these alternatives sound OK to you? Which one? |
|
Sep-28-08 | | Dionyseus: <kutztown46> I'm not certain if 10...Qc7 will be the move with the highest interest to the team, it would certainly be up there though as one of the top choices. I'd say 10...Rc8 and 10...b5 would be deserving of their own forums, and that's just for 10.kb1, there's other decent moves for white at move 10. |
