Behold the fiery disk of Ra!

Started with tournaments right after the first Fischer-Spassky set-to, but have long since given up active play in favour of poker.

In my chess playing days, one of the most memorable moments was playing fourth board on the team that won the National High School championship at Cleveland, 1977. Another which stands out was having the pleasure of playing a series of rapid games with Mikhail Tal on his first visit to the USA in 1988. Even after facing a number of titled players, including Teimour Radjabov when he first became a GM (he still gave me a beating), these are things which I'll not forget.

Fischer at his zenith was the greatest of all champions for me, but has never been one of my favourite players. In that number may be included Emanuel Lasker, Bronstein, Korchnoi, Larsen, Speelman, Romanishin, Nakamura and Carlsen, all of whom have displayed outstanding fighting qualities.

Besides sitting across the board from Tal, I have a Lasker number of three and twos for world champions from Capablanca through Carlsen.

They're Brownshirts.>

Agolf Twittler calling out of control morons slamming into a Biden bus on its way to Austin, Texas, with their vehicles, "patriots."

A five deferment slimeball trying to defend the indefensible.

Nov-02-20  technical draw: To show how useless polls are, in one poll the candidate "biteme" is winning by a million votes. There are other candidates but I can't post their names on this family friendly site.

Fun facts:

"biteme" coal is the soft kind that burns dirty.

"anarchycite" coal is the hard kind that burns citys.

<and contain evidence of dinosaur activity in the numerous ash plies.>

Imagine putting coal in your furnace and watching a T-Rex come out. No thanks.

<Special Counsel’s Office Opens Hatch Act Investigation Into Trump’s Use of White House for Campaign Events

The U.S. Office of Special Counsel has opened an investigation into whether President Donald Trump’s campaign’s use of the White House violated federal law. Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) called on the watchdog to conduct a probe on Election Day, to which the agency responded that it “was not consulted on the decision to use space inside the Eisenhower Executive Office Building as a campaign ‘war room.” The office’s statement also read, “Our Hatch Act Unit has opened an investigation into these allegations to determine if the Hatch Act was violated.” The Hatch Act prohibits the use of federal property for campaign events. The Republican Party hosted its election convention at the White House as well, presenting not only speeches but also a naturalization ceremony presided over by acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf.>
