Behold the fiery disk of Ra!

Started with tournaments right after the first Fischer-Spassky set-to, but have long since given up active play in favour of poker.

In my chess playing days, one of the most memorable moments was playing fourth board on the team that won the National High School championship at Cleveland, 1977. Another which stands out was having the pleasure of playing a series of rapid games with Mikhail Tal on his first visit to the USA in 1988. Even after facing a number of titled players, including Teimour Radjabov when he first became a GM (he still gave me a beating), these are things which I'll not forget.

Fischer at his zenith was the greatest of all champions for me, but has never been one of my favourite players. In that number may be included Emanuel Lasker, Bronstein, Korchnoi, Larsen, Speelman, Romanishin, Nakamura and Carlsen, all of whom have displayed outstanding fighting qualities.

Besides sitting across the board from Tal, I have a Lasker number of three and twos for world champions from Capablanca through Carlsen.

<Roberts will let the rest of the law stand: "I think, frankly, that [Congress] wanted the court to [strike down the whole law], but that's not our job."

Roberts + Kavanaugh + 3 Liberals = 5 votes to uphold the ACA even if they strike down the mandate.>

<Dave Wasserman
@Redistrict
Although Trump continues to narrow Biden's AZ lead, the share of the remaining ballots Trump needs to catch up keeps getting higher - now needs ~64% of ~48k. That's extremely unlikely, given 15k of the 48k are in Pima (Tucson).

Maricopa county has posted 5,291 ballots.
Breakdown

Biden: 2,213 (41.8%)
Trump: 2,982 (56.4%)

This was a net gain of +769 for Trump.

Biden leads Trump by 12,813 in Arizona.>

perfidious: While the early call by Faux News for Biden in Arizona was premature in my view, no more doubt, despite the post-midnight machinations of the Tinpot Despot. May he go gentle into that good night and disturb the well-being of others no more.

chancho: Covid-19 cases are on the rise in the US and a moron in the White House is feeling sorry for himself, in a state of denial.

With each passing moment, he is adding further to his bank account of embarrassment.

Why is he doing this to himself when the endgame is clearly hopeless for him?

The only explanation in all of this is that he is not a stable genius after all.

Still waiting on the 'miracle'; perhaps Tinpot Despot the pathological liar can take five precious minutes from his efforts to slay the imaginary dragon and mobilise his infinite resources to better the lot of the American people.

'Sycophant' is an apt description of anyone in the coterie which surrounds the Tinpot Despot, but arse-licker has its points.

perfidious: <td>, good thing there is no triple zero--that game is tough enough the way it is now Stateside.
Nov-12-20  technical draw: Well, you're close. They pay out 35 to one but with zero and double zero the honest payoff should be 37 to one. And in some casinos they also add an Eagle which you cannot bet on and that makes the odds 38 to one.

The good thing about roulette is that it's enjoyable for system players. You see them around the table writing down the winning number and making their calculations. Casinos love system players because they claim they are using science to win!

Those are not the odds but the house advantage. But the pick three lotteries have a 50% advantage for the house. You might as well mail them your money.
