Behold the fiery disk of Ra!

Started with tournaments right after the first Fischer-Spassky set-to, but have long since given up active play in favour of poker.

In my chess playing days, one of the most memorable moments was playing fourth board on the team that won the National High School championship at Cleveland, 1977. Another which stands out was having the pleasure of playing a series of rapid games with Mikhail Tal on his first visit to the USA in 1988. Even after facing a number of titled players, including Teimour Radjabov when he first became a GM (he still gave me a beating), these are things which I'll not forget.

Fischer at his zenith was the greatest of all champions for me, but has never been one of my favourite players. In that number may be included Emanuel Lasker, Bronstein, Korchnoi, Larsen, Speelman, Romanishin, Nakamura and Carlsen, all of whom have displayed outstanding fighting qualities.

  perfidious: Business as usual:

<Rent money for the future world chump! What is happening to this website? Just because the lame duck prez ordered Old Glory at half-mast for 30 days doesn't mean we have to stand six feet apart, ten in a room, and have our mug shot taken if we didn't get the latest COVID vax.

Magnus Carlsen blundered more in this game than FTB recalls seeing before. SF analysis is still disabled, so you'll have to take FTB's word for it. Editors will say no, no and seek to delete FTBs chess post as usual because FTB is not allowed to criticize MC. That is not a criticism, it is a pure FACT that MC boo-booed more than a couple times here. That's why players lose. Of course, the game took place on New Year's Eve blitz, so you know what that means. There was a little sumpin sumpin in MCs eggnog. Or was there some Darth Vader mental telepathy going on?? (You know that James Earl passed away September 9, 2024 right?)

For all you trolls out there that don't know, this game is not about politicians. This opening is a popular anti-Sicilian. Had Black played 9...Nxe4, he gets the edge.

FTB had more analysis for y'all, but the tech department continues vandalizing, restricting FTB's account. FTBs post lengths are now reduced to the size of Al's dinky nob. There's no room for full analysis, and FTB is not going to do the double-triple posting and then be told that FTB is posting too much, so take an hour-long time out (suspension without appeal). So much conniving double standard BS from the top here. Do you see any length restrictions on political posts? No, blast away.>

Just another day for <fredfradiavolo>, so hard done by as always.
