Hello all,
I joined CG as an administrator, editor & front-end developer. I will start helping CG with administrative/editor tasks such as making sure tournaments and their bio's are complete and up-to-date, reading forums to help list and prioritize tasks at hand.

I didn't check the normalization of the PGN game headers to <CG>, so all the tags should be double checked. (That last piece really should be proforma when updating any tournament games)

Sep-03-22		stone free or die: FWIW - all of Radjabov's games were nullified when he withdrew after R5. His 4 losses didn't need modification, but he did score one draw: Radjabov vs Mamedyarov, 2022 What should the game result be? I would suggest 0 instead of 1/2, as that's the official scoring. A comment in the PGN could provide <CG> users with the informal draw result. But others might weigh in differently (Missy?).

Sep-04-22		MissScarlett: I think we should differentiate between game result and scoreboard result. There have been events where a draw resulted in 1/4 point. There was at least one game in which both players were scored zero. Armageddon games when draws count as decisive results are the acid test, I suppose.

Sep-05-22		stone free or die: Armageddon are indeed the acid test. And there the 0 score should be used, imo - with a boilerplate comment in the PGN for users. As far as Radjubov's annulled games go - the "standard" solution is to leave the "normal" game result in the PGN, and put the games into a separate Event with the "- x" or "-x" nonmenclature: < [Event "<standard tournament name> - x"]>. That keeps the xtab (via PGN) clean for the tournament. * * * * * Note <chess24.com> is using a new PGN tag to track the GCT scoring system: <WhiteScore / BlackScore>. It's certainly one possible solution. But is it the best? (Note PGN tag is redundant with appended game result - suggesting another possible place (or places) to tuck the score).

Note that this is a good example of games which one would like to include, but didn't contribute to the final xtab for the tournament. (Stern withdrew, and the Paulsen--DeVere game was contested [Paulsen lost on time], and the committee allowed it to be replayed).
