WannaBe: In case I forgot, congrats to them Lady Bruins. =)) U. Mich (69-63) won, but the last spread I saw was -6.5, so if you took UConn w/ spread, you got very lucky, if you bet on them U. Mich, I feel bad; the O/U was 148.5

WannaBe: ¡Olé! ¡Olé! this is what I see for "¡Olé! ¡Olé!" (game of the day Mar-13-2026) I also know this issue have been around for a while, and it's not that important, in IT term, it is a level 'C', cosmetic fix. But I just wish to report it again. Can CG.com unify this ...

WannaBe: It just happened again!! I left my PC for about 30 min (meeting) and when I returned, Edge Browser have reset all my pages. (logged me out, whatever you want to call it...)

Grrrrrrr!!!

Been a loooooooong time!

Aug-10-15  RonB52734: Yeah, the kids ran away to college. Figured I needed to save every nickel I could for a while.

I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

But what is that loud whistle I hear?

1. d4 e4 2. c6 d6 3. Bc4 Bxf7+ 4. Kd7 Kc7 5. Nc3 Qg4 1-0

In order to not lose the game (immediately), I have to move my king further outside the pawn protection. White threatens knight check by going to d5 or b5. Black can prolong the game by 6. Kb6 Ka5/Ka6 both would result in a first move check by white.

SwitchingQuylthulg: <WannaBe> 6.Nd7 Kb8 would have avoided immediate mate, I think. (It does run into 7.Qxd7 Qxd8, so your 6.1-0! was probably better.)

WannaBe: Went back to using IE, not gonna use Edge anymore. Minor complaint on IE (Win10) is that if you have more than 3 tabs open, the far right tabs overlap the min, max, and close 'X' at the upper right hand corner.

(At least with my resolution and font settings...)

WannaBe: Today is the second Tuesday of the month, so I installed the latest Win10 patches.

After reboot, my mouse refused to work. Had to unplug the USB and move it to another USB port. Ugh!!

Also noticed, after my initial upgrade and each patch, desktop always have the system file "Desktop", this never happened with Win7.

Alt + Tab behaviour is very very different from Win7. I can't use Alt + Tab to jump from application to application like I used to. Another big Ugh!!

<CybelAngel also said it counted some 15,000 .gov or .mil addresses in the dump, suggesting that American soldiers, sailors and government employees had opened themselves up to possible blackmail.

Using a government email to register for an adultery website may seem foolish, but CybelAngel Vice President of Operations Damien Damuseau said there was a certain logic to it.

Using a professional address, he said, keeps the messages out of personal accounts "where their partner might see them."

"It's not that dumb," Damuseau said.>

Huh?!!? It's not dumb?? It's plain STUPID!! Get yourself another FREAKIN' email account, they are free!!

Obviously the trolls here on CG are smart enough to get free email account, create another handle on CG and keep trollin'. But .gov and .mil people don't know how to create a free account! Go figure.

Penguincw: I also heard of some story about a criminal who tried to rob a bank, but at that very moment, he received a phone call saying he won a contest. Over the phone (and with the bank teller right there), he surrendered all his personal info, including his full name, address, phone number, etc.

Is it true or did someone make it up? Either way, that would be a <great> way to get arrested/caught.

perfidious: Sounds like a nominee for a Darwin Award, if true.
Aug-20-15  Jim Bartle: The Woody Allen movie "Radio Days" opened with something vaguely similar. Two robbers were ransacking the house of a family vacation. The phone rings, it's a radio contest, they answer the questions right.

The family returns from vacation to find everything stolen. Then later that day a truck arrives full of all the prizes they had "won" in the contest.
