WannaBe: <perfidious> Well, ABC did show Star & Stripes and State of WI flag on top of the stadium blowing really good. I need to do some research on how a stadium/bowl affects the wind flow when it goes over the top and flows down (Like how wind blow over the Rockies and goes ...

Fusilli: <technical draw> I started to watch when Spain was winning 1-0 and all I saw for 10 minutes was Spain keeping the ball, trying absolutely nothing, and wasting time. I felt disgusted and started to cheer for Russia. Then Russia scored. So NOW Spain tries again. Spain is stingy, and Russia is simply not very good. Makes for a boring game.

Fusilli: Minute 82. The Russians are thinking, "Why don't they kill us? They are 10 times more talented!"
Jul-01-18  NakoSonorense: <Fusilli> <Before the game, horrified by Argentina's horrible defense, I was predicting 4-1.>

When it was 4-2, I thought it was a bit generous to Argentina, but not unreasonable. After all, this is a team of players that bring their trade to the likes of ManCity, Barcelona, and PSG.

Argentina's third goal came out of nowhere. That's what happens when to have Aguero and Messi on the same team!

By the way, Pavard's goal (France's second) was probably the nicest goal of the World Cup so far. Such great technique!

Jul-01-18  NakoSonorense: <Fusilli> <Minute 82. The Russians are thinking, "Why don't they kill us?>

Forget the Russians. Right now *I* am the one saying "why don't they kill me?"

This game is such a snoozefest.

Jul-01-18  thegoodanarchist: <Keyser Soze: <Actually it was a Messi shot deflected by a team mate that gave Argentina their only lead, 2 - 1. Your assessment is overly harsh.>

*weak and bad shot deflected. That's was a stroke of luck, it wasn't an assist. >

You're just a Messi hater, that's all. No matter what, you won't say anything good about him.

Jul-01-18  technical draw: It's mighty cold in Spain right now. I think the 4th penalty spot is the worse. I'll take the first one in case my team loses they might forget who missed.

Diademas: My predictions just went belly up.
Had Spain all the way to the final...😫
Jul-01-18  technical draw: I had a hard time finding a free online site to watch Russia/Spain so when it took so long I turned on the radio and found a station with the game and a Spanish narration. Well I finally found a computer site but the narration was in German. So I said to myself: Why don't I watch the game on the computer and hear the narration on the radio. Wow! I am almost as smart as WannaBe.

But as it turned out the radio had a minute lag, aaaarrrggghh! So I turned off the radio and saw the game on my computer with the narration in German. Which is about as exciting as it sounds. That's what I get for being a cheapskate and not getting cable.

Jul-01-18  NakoSonorense: <td> You don't get Telemundo in PR? I can see the games on their website.
Jul-01-18  Count Wedgemore: <Diademas: My predictions just went belly up. Had Spain all the way to the final...😫>

I feel your pain. Because I did the same thing! Didn't see that coming. I'm 0 for 3 after the first three 1/8-finals, so I'm screwed.

Jul-01-18  technical draw: Thanks <Nako> Hurricane Maria flattened my roof top aerial and like all things I just keep putting them off. That's basically because I don't watch TV and my mother can watch her only channel with a simple 12' wire. (the poor man's antenna).

But alas I think I must surrender to the Comm. giants and go back with hat in hand begging for more channels.

Jul-01-18  morfishine: The Fix is in!
Jul-01-18  thegoodanarchist: Russia shocks the world! Spain defeated!
Jul-01-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: Methinks TD's predictions are better than mine, lol. You just wait for ENGERLAND!! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

<Optimistic racist: I hope France can go all the way and be the first African team to win the World Cup.>

And I hope Wannabe bans your racist ass!

Jul-01-18  technical draw: It doesn't matter which of these two bumbling teams (Cro/Den) win Russia will have them for breakfast.

Diademas: <<technical draw: >It doesn't matter which of these two bumbling teams (Cro/Den) win Russia will have them for breakfast.> I know the Russian cuisine can be a bit rustic, but thats just wrong. 🤔
Jul-01-18  technical draw: <Diademas> Russia must, however, remove the viking horns from Denmark before eating. (or is that Norway?).

Denmark is a strange country. It just sits there, nothing ever happens. Their greatest export was Bent Larsen. (and Niels Bohr).

Jul-01-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: I should have betted with my head and not my heart. I thought Argentina v Brazil (QF) , Brazil v Spain (sf) and England v Brazil would have made a truly joyous World Cup final. Can you imagine Brazil v English in a <World Cup final??>.

It could still happen although given my predictions so far I'd say England could still win :)

ENGERLAND 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

WannaBe: Croatia, one of the most loved team/country beat Denmark, one of the least loved team/country.

=))

Jul-01-18  technical draw: Croatia just won the most boring game ever. Bar none. I won't be having a Carlsberg or building with Legos anymore. And I'll forget everything Niels Bohr taught me.

I just had to see it to the end so I could boast of seeing all the games, And that German narration wasn't even exciting during the penalty shots. Well the Russians will put an end to the Croatian celebration. Ya!
