Aug-14-08  pawnofdoom: Go Sasikiran! It's been a while since he has won a major tournament like this.
Aug-14-08  wolfmaster: I don't know if this tournament was major (no 2650 except for him), but it's good to see that he can beat those 75 points below him.

WannaBe: 'Embarassing', 45 games, and how many are Sicilian, Najdorf?? =)
Aug-14-08  Jim Bartle: In the Polugaevsky theme tournament in 1994, all games Sicilian, not a single player tried the Polugaevsky variation.

Polugaevsky said, "Oh well, at least it wasn't refuted."

  WannaBe: <Jim Bartle> *chuckle*...

That's one of the thing that bugs me, my pet peeve...

If you are going to have a so-and-so memorial, and there is a variation named after so-and-so, for goodness sakes, start the game at move number X!

(Of that variation, of course...) Sheesh... They are playing D10, A28, C92...

Sep-28-08  Duck McCluck: from her blog
Sep-28-08  Pyke: <Duck McCluck> This has allready been posted on the Kramnik page, where it's somewhat more appropriate than on the Najdorf Memorial page.

But of course you allready know that, since you even copied <KSR>s comment he made there, too, and not only the letter by Sergiev.

Sep-28-08  Duck McCluck: But still, it's pretty significant. I also posted it at the kibitzer's cafe.
