offramp: Poor Rohde. Doomed forever top be used in pun after pun after pun after pun.
Aug-10-14  Tim Delaney: Good pun, but the game was disappointing. Giving up the queen for two minor pieces in the opening? Quite honestly, I don't get it.
Aug-10-14  MountainMatt: Umm, about all I can say is that queen sac/blunder was pretty atrocious.

  al wazir: I would have played 9...Qa5+ in a microsecond. After 10. Bd2 Qc7 black has a perfectly decent game. If 10. b4 Qxb4+ 11. Bd2 Qa3, black's ♕ is marooned, but 12...Bd7 rescues it.

FSR: Rohde was following S Agdestein vs Keene, 1983. The sane 9...Qa5+ 10.Bd2 Qc7 has apparently done OK for Black. Games Like I Naumkin vs D Losev, 2007

  FSR: <al wazir> 9...Qa5+ 10.b4 Qxb4+ 11.Bd2 Qa3 12.Bc1 is a well-known drawing line. Opening Explorer
Aug-10-14  morfishine: This is certainly better than that cat food one
Aug-10-14  Once: As cinema sins might say, "unsound queen sac is unsound".

Good to see Miles winning, although he largely does it on autopilot against an opponent who seems determined to sacrifice everything.

I did enjoy Miles calmly playing 26. Rc8+ and 27. Qh8. He allows black to do his worst with rooks on the second rank, having calculated that white gets his checkmate in first.

Aug-10-14  celtrusco: I don't like 4-...Nc6 .
Probably is the reason of the trouble.
Aug-10-14  Tigranny: Pretty badly played game...
Aug-10-14  thegoodanarchist: <Tim Delaney: Good pun, but the game was disappointing. Giving up the queen for two minor pieces in the opening? Quite honestly, I don't get it.>

Agreed. The choice is inexplicable.

Aug-11-14  kevin86: It looks like blaclk's "attack" ran out of steam-so he resigtned.
