Nov-21-05  lorem ipsum: Anything special that I'm missing about this game? I thought that 5.Nb5, and 12.Nc3 were interesting.

Jan-22-13  Zugzwangovich: Still I'd like to know: After Kxe7 how does White force the win here, with Black's queen on c8 as it was in the actual game?

With Black's queen on c8, it might continue 26...Kxe7 27. Rb7+ Ke8 28. Qb5+ Kd8 29. Bb6+ etc.

Jan-22-13  Zugzwangovich: <beatgiant> Thank you; looks like good analysis to me. I was thinking of something boring like 27.Bc5 recovering the exchange, but that wouldn't do White a whole lot of good since he's three pawns down.
Jan-22-13  Zugzwangovich: Before any of you grammarians jump all over my, er, posterior, I should amend my last to "down three pawns". As is fairly well known, a preposition is a poor word to end a sentence with.

Jan-22-13  Zugzwangovich: <perfidious> I may be just slow, but I don't quite get the drift of your comment.

perfidious: <Zugzwangovich> While having grown up with training in proper English grammar, I was mocking the obsessiveness I have seen online from time to time, come to that sort of thing.
Jan-23-13  Zugzwangovich: <perfidious>Thanks, Alan; I hear you. By the way, there's a sentence in the Guiness Book that ends with nine straight different prepositions: "Daddy, what did you bring that book that I didn't want to be read to from out of about Down Under up for?"
Dec-01-14  TheFocus: From a simul in San Francisco, California on April 13, 1964.

Fischer scored +38=8-4.
