Honza Cervenka: An interesting commentary of this game is at http://www.1001knights.com/Campfire...
Dec-09-03  Dick Brain: A tremendous game that Fred Reinfeld would never be able to explain. Black went from what seemed like dominant positions for his pieces to edge of the board in so few moves while White's pieces sprung to Black's king just as fast.
Dec-27-04  ArturoRivera: wow!!!, thats all what i got to say
Feb-13-05  aw1988: Rather like a confusing soccer game where dust suddenly covers the field and no one knows what is happening, then the fans, or rather in this case the attack- finally figure out what happened, and people slowly realize... or in this case, the attack becomes more and more pronounced.
Nov-10-05  thathwamasi: first!!! Oh my god!!!! What a luvly combo by gligoric..
Nov-10-05  notsodeepthought: The pun was cute, but the game was even better.
Nov-10-05  ShadowGnu: was black's move 12 a mistake? It looks like that is where it all seems to go downhill.
Nov-10-05  posoo: Good heavens! Watching that game was truly a pleasure! Demolishing the pawns often depends on the ability to quickly maneuver a rook into play! I am just beginning to understand when kingside sacrifices are sound, and when they aren't.
Nov-10-05  greyfox: magnificent knight show!!!!!
Nov-10-05  Averageguy: Upon seeing the pun I was pretty sure this was to be a two knights defense.
Nov-10-05  ReikiMaster: Great combo! Final position looks as if black has attempted to occupy only the edges of the board!
Nov-10-05  blackjacki2: great pun
Nov-10-05  paragon: this is off-topic, but Gligoric is a cool name... :)
Nov-10-05  cyclemath: I met Gligoric a couple of times at simuls. Once he was alone, and the other time he was with Tal. Seemed to be a very nice chap.
Nov-10-05  bachiller: I cant understand why Bidev did not take the d4 pawn on move 17 or 18

Mateo: <ShadowGnu> <was black's move 12 a mistake? It looks like that is where it all seems to go downhill.> You are right and Gligoric could win quickly with 13. d4!.

If 13... ed 13. cd Nd7 (13... Na4 14. Re7! Ne7 15. Be4-b7 ; 13... Ne6 14. Bb3 Q moves 15. d5 ) 14. Re7! Ne7 15. Be4-b7 .

If 13... Nd7 14. Be4 Qd6 (only move) 15. de wins for White.

Nov-10-05  kab: <bachiller: I cant understand why Bidev did not take the d4 pawn on move 17 or 18> Probably he was afraid of knight fork Nf5 after the exchange at d4

  Mateo: <bachiller: I cant understand why Bidev did not take the d4 pawn on move 17 or 18> If 17... Nd4 18. Nd4 Qd4 19. Qd4 Rd4 20. Nf5 wins. If 18... Nd4 19. Nd4 Rd4 20. Nf5 wins.
Nov-10-05  EmperorAtahualpa: Haha, great pun for today's game! The game itself is also very nice! I guess Black's main error was an over-developed queenside. I nominate for best move of the game: 19.d5!
Nov-10-05  JohnBoy: This is a tremendous game - illustrates the potential energy in the white pieces bunched up around the queen at d1.

<Mateo> - I don't think that 14.Rxe7 is possible in your parenthetical line. Plus, you've ignored that the black c5 knight can go to e6. While maybe white has a way to win immediately, you've not shown it.

Nov-10-05  Autoreparaturwerkbau: <Honza>, you link doesn't get me anywhere. On page http://www.1001knights.com/Campfire... I don't even see the possibility of finding the game.
Nov-10-05  dakgootje: very nice game but dont like that black resigned and certainly not at this point...If i was black here i would have resigned at move 24. ♕h5 or would give white the chance (dont know whether you can speak of honour...) to mate me at move 28...but resigning here...No thats not very nice...if your opponent had such devasting attack at least give him in such position the chance to end it by mate...
Nov-10-05  jaaron11: Games like this are why I love chess.

Mateo: <JohnBoy> <I don't think that 14.Rxe7 is possible in your parenthetical line.> I suppose you mean the variation 13. d4 ed 14. cd Na4 15. Re7. Could you show me why 15. Re7 is not possible?

<JohnBoy> <you've ignored that the black c5 knight can go to e6.> What do you mean? I did not ignored it. I showed the variation 13. d4 ed 14. cd Ne6 15. Bb3 Q moves 16. d5.

Nov-10-05  Averageguy: <ruylopez900>This would be a good game for your collection.
