May-31-15  vajeer: Would 26. Rc7 followed by c6 win too?
May-31-15  houtenton: <vajeer> At the first view it looks like your line (26.Rc7 followed by c6) and my line are winning easier than in the game. No time anymore to work it out. Maybe <patzer2> will still help us in the last hour of the day.
May-31-15  Pedro Fernandez: Hey <Chris>, this puzzle is almost impossible to solve on terms Serper did. At the puzzle position one sees clearly that white possesses a superior position. For instance, 25.Qxb4 "should win" too, and if 25...fxe3 then 26.Qxh4 threatening mate at e7, etc. However if black side can do ...0-0! my variation doesn't work. At first glance I didn't like 25.Rxc8+! since the black bishop on 'c8' is pinned.
Dec-09-15  Lamateur: Impressive game by serper !
Dec-09-15  Shams: From Page 1 of the kibitzing:

<acirce> <It's funny as a curiosity but not much more than that.>

I hope ol' Ulf has learned to have fun, wherever he is!

Jul-11-16  todicav23: White basically sacrificed all his pieces, except the queen.

I haven't analyzed the game to see if the whole "concept" is sound, but this must be one of the most impressive games ever played by a human chess player.

Jul-12-16  todicav23: Actually white also sacrificed the queen in the end, although you can say that it is not a real sacrifice because a new white queen appeared on the board immediately.

Here is the analysis of the game:

Does anyone know any other game where a player made so many sacrifices?

This is the closest that I'm aware of:
G Mahia vs Quinteros, 1980

There's always I Rogers vs G Milos, 1992, which became controversial in the Best Game competition at the 1992 Olympiad.

gezafan: Wow. Serper sacrifices every one of his pieces! How many times in chess history has this happened?
Aug-08-19  Caissas Clown: I have just watched a wonderfully precise endgame by Capablanca. Instructive, sure - but I would much sooner watch a game like this.Absolutely electric!
Feb-25-20  MordimerChess: Definitely fun to watch but analysis gives headache :D Serper played his immortal game and sacrified literally ALL his pieces. And the game was pretty precise with no chances to save it.

21...Qb7 doesn't help 22. c6 Rxa1 23. cxb7 Rxf1+ 24. Kxf1 Bxb7

Of course white had to be careful couple of times, for example:

29. Kxf2 Qxc5+ 30. Ke1 Qc1+ 31. Kf2Q d2+ 32. Kf1 Ng3+ 33. hxg3 Qd1+ 34. Kf2 hxg3+ 35. Ke3 Bh6+ 36. f4 Bxf4+ 37. Ke4 Qd4+ 38. Kf3 Qe3+ 39. Kg4 Qe2#

47. Kxe2?? Nf4+ 48. Kxf2 Nxg6∓
Or 48. Kxe3?? e1Q+

Where Nikolaidis made the mistake? Maybe 11...h4! instead of Qc7

Or maybe 18...f5 was too brave?

I recorded exaplanation of coupld of lines in this crazy game: https://youtu.be/8oNc4TRS9Ow

Enjoy! And watch out the headache syndroms ;)

I remember GM Neil Young saying something like that.

This game is sick. Beyond belief.

Fantastic tour de force by Serper.
