That's an interesting trap. After 20.Kb1 Bd7, White cannot go in for the game continuation: 21.Bh7+ Kh8 22.Nf7+ Rxf7 23.Bg6+ Qxh6, or 23.Qxe3 Rxf1+ and wins.

However, with 21.a3, White makes a square for his king with all his threats intact. The extra move does Black no good.

May-19-20  MrCalculater: Barne, a win over Morphy using the barnes defense don't means you can use it against Anderssen, since Anderssen is stronger!

fredthebear: What about a cheesy Q+ on move 2?

1.e4 f6 2.Qh5+ g6 3.Be2 gxQh5 4.Bxh5# 1-0. There are no examples of 2.Qh5+ in this database. White should not expect <HOPE> Black to bite on the queen sacrifice.
