Phony Benoni: That is a bad case. After <10.Na4>:

Surely <10...Qa5>< solves most of Black's tactical problems.

Jan-03-14  Chicago Chess Man: 10...Qa5 11.Nxc5 Qxc5 12. Nxe6 does not really solve anything for black....
Jan-03-14  Ratt Boy: 10...♕a5 11.♘xc5, ♕xc5 12. ♘xe6, ♕e5 13.♘g5, O-O (13...♕xe4 14.♗c5 looks risky as all getout) leaves Black down a pawn with only the Lady developed, butt he's not resigning.
Jan-03-14  morfishine: This game is not good enough to be GOTD
Jan-03-14  Tigranny: Perhaps a longer game for GOTD?
Jan-03-14  Edeltalent: <morfishine: This game is not good enough to be GOTD>

I second that. I wish they'd just select excellently played, or famous, or instructive, or wild, or shocking, or beautiful games instead of ones with "pun potential".

Jan-03-14  th3doctor: Awful
Jan-03-14  Pballa: For Game of the Day, can we focus on good games rather than corny puns?
Jan-03-14  Marcgerm: horrrrrible game....
Jan-03-14  pericles of athens: 10...? Black to play.

  alexmagnus: <Blaha haha!>

He should play M Muha (Russian speakers will understand :)).

Jan-03-14  pericles of athens: There is a horrible fork black can get into if he gets greedy in this line:

10...Qa5
11. Nxc5 Qxc5
12. Nf5 Qe5

which brings you to this position:

Then white plays
13. f4!

because if black blunders 13...Qxe4???

White forks King and Queen with 14. Nd6+:

Domdaniel: I have no objection to seeing this as GOTD. It's good, I think, to see a variety of game types -- long games, short games, tactical ones, positional masterpieces, blunderfests, opening errors, usw. It takes all sorts...
Jan-04-14  Cheapo by the Dozen: What SHOULD Black have done on Move 9? Bb6?
Jan-04-14  kevin86: After Qd6 the matter is settled.
