Oct-13-12 | | BOSTER: <goter>
<Now it's not often that I get everything right,so this must have been "Easy".> Let's put this under test.
This is the pos. after 28.Nh6+ gxh6(forced) 29.Qf5 with the threat Qxf8 ,and after <silly> answer Nf6.
click for larger view Does white have a forced win here?
<Abdel Irada> Your analysis is so long , that you forgot that after 29...Nf6 30.gxh6 Qe4+! |
|
Oct-13-12 | | stst: One hidden course:
28.Nd4 exd4
29.Qe5 Nf6
30.gxf6 Qc7
31.fxg7 Qxg7
32.Rg1 Qxg1
33.Bxg1 Rxc4
34.Qd5+ Kh8
35.Qxc4
Black left with a B, easy win for W.
Time to check... |

Oct-13-12 | | TheBish: R Forster vs Huebner, 1994 White to play (28.?) "Very Difficult"
28. Nh6+! gxh6 29. Qf5 leads to a winning attack.
29...Bg7
Alternatives are 29...Be7 30. Qf7+ Kh8 31. Qxe7, or 29...Ng7? 30. Qf7+ Kh8 31. Qxf8+ Rxf8 32. Rxf8#, or 29...Nc7 30. Qxc8, or 29...Nf6 30. Qxf6 hxg5 31. Qf7+ Kh8 32. Bxg5 Bg7 33. Bf6 Rg8 34. Rg1 and there is no defense. 30. Qf7+ Kh8 31. gxh6 and White will win back the piece with advantage, due to the dual threats of 32. hxg7+ and 32. Qf8+, e.g. 31...Bxh6 32. Bxh6 and Black can't stop mate on either f8 or g7, or 31...Qe4+ 32. Ka1 Qg6 33. hxg7+ Qxg7 34. Qe6! Rb8 (or 34...Qc7 35. Rf8+ Kg7 36. Bh6#) 35. Bh6 and Black must lose his queen, as 36. Rf8(+) is coming. |
|
Oct-13-12 | | James D Flynn: Black is a pawn up but the few pieces are poised for attack on the Black K. Black threatens Qxc4 to simplify and exploit his pawn plus. White can easily prevent that by 28.b3 but that gives Black time for e4 attacking the White Q and forcing her off the important b1 to h7 diaghonal. The likeliest way for White to open lines to the Black K is 28.Nh6+ gxh6( forced else Kh8 R xf8# ) now White can exploit the awkward placement of the Black B and N and the weakness of the 8th and 7th ranks by 29.Qf5 attacking the B on f8. If Black defends it by moving the N to g7 then 30.Qf7+ Kh8 31.Qxf8+ Rxf8 32.Rxf8# or 29…..Nc7 30.Qxc8 and there is no defense for the B on f8 without sacrificing more material. If instead 29…..Bg7 30. Qf7+ Kh8 31.gxh6 and White threatens Qf8+ in a position where the N cannot move with allowing mate on g7, nor does Bxh6 32.Bxh6 help, nor 29……Be7 30.Qf7+ Kh8 31.Qxe7 Ng7(or Nc7 ) gxh6. The best try appears to be 29….Nf6 giving back the piece. White is now faced by some genuine problems: the N must be taken or Qe4+ will force a Q exchange but Qxf6 allows Qe4+ and Qxe3 and White has no advantage 30.Qe6+ Kh8 31.Rxf6 allows Qe4+ Ka1 Qh1+ and Black wins. . 30.gxf6 Qxc4 31.f7+ Kh8 32.Rg1 Bg7 33.Rxg7 Kxg7 34.Bh6+ Kxh6 35.Qg5# appears to do the trick , the prosaic 33.Bxh6 also appears to work.
Now for the game. |

Oct-13-12 | | Abdel Irada: <BOSTER>: Actually, I didn't forget; but I admit that my analysis was so long it was probably easy to overlook: <<(5) 29. ...Nf6!?<>>Now White must be careful so as to preserve winning chances. After 30. Qxf6?, Qe4†; 31. Ka1, Qg6!, they evaporate. The same applies to 30. Qe6†, Kh8; 31. Qxf6†?, Bg7. Also insufficient is <30. gxh6?, Qe4†>, when Black trades off queens and survives.> |

 | | LIFE Master AJ: Wonderful combo. I <guessed> the first move ... but completely missed/underestimated the second move. |
|
Oct-13-12 | | Tiggler: I thought 28. Nh6+ was winning, but missed the defense 29... Be7 until I moved pieces on the board. So now I have to look to see what else I missed. |
|
Oct-13-12 | | Tiggler: <JimfromProvidence: This is my 2000th post so I better make it good.> Congratulations and thanks for 2000 posts! And it is good: as is often the case you saw something that everyone (or nearly everyone?) else missed. |

Oct-16-12 | | Tiggler: <chrisowen: Tried cudgel oh ok stir up trouble mishmash a nh6 in first queen c6
off in having gotten under the skin of it i conclude blacks last move was a blunder change up ride lion f5 white knight in h6 at beating down the door open in shut nf see h6+ in grain principle effect in giving room for queenf5 as tongue in cheek in highball...> This post was one of <chrisowen>'s greatest. <Tried cudgel oh ok stir up trouble mishmash> is chess poetry! Unfortunately, I did not notice it until several days later. I went to his user profile to see if I could post my praise there on his forum, but alas: he does not have one. So I just hope he happens to revisit here. |
|
Oct-16-12 | | MarkFinan: Goldsby, check a diagram I just posted In my forum out, and let me know If you'd have seen that move and gone on to win the game??
I set the engine to your exact elo, and I whooped It twice... Seriously, check the last 2 diagrams out In my forum and give me some feedback??
(LEAVE *Ramone* out of THIS though!!!!!!!) ;) |

 | | LIFE Master AJ: No one believes any of that nonsense ... like he is really capable of playing that game? Haha, what load of pure garbage. |

 | | WannaBe: I, usually try to avoid 'heated' discussion, but what the heck, he's got me on ignore, so he won't see this post anyway. On October 13: <Wonderful combo. My web page on this game ... I hope that anyone who takes the time to look at it will enjoy it. (Thanks.)> Oct 15: < For me - the highest compliment that I can give a game ... is to analyze it to death and even make a web page out of it.> Amazing how someone can go from guessing moves to completely analyzing the game 'to death' and pay the highest complement in days. Astounds me. |

 | | perfidious: <WannaBe> Why would that poster have you on ignore, of all people? Did you fail to genuflect in the direction of Pensacola one day? |
|
Oct-18-12 | | Robed.Bishop: It's odd how small misunderstandings can get out of hand quickly. So, before this can escalate, let me point out that genuflecting isn't the proper sign of respect to Pensacola. The ritual required is to kneel and touch your head to the floor facing the opposite direction of Pensacola. Heh, all of this is wasted anyway because we're all on ignore... |
|
Oct-18-12 | | MarkFinan: Goldsby?? You mean me? You mean I'm not capable of playing those games?
I don't have to lie to anyone, let alone a buffoon like you..
Why are you such a poisonous little man, I was genuinely asking you to take a look, whilst giving you a little jab about Ramone ;) Lighten up, and make a few webpages about my games, I'll post a few just for you... lol |

 | | OhioChessFan: Here's <Robed.Bishop> showing flawless technique. The last step in the process is to respectfully raise the hem of his robe, much as a young lady does with her dress hem in a curtsy. http://www.rockofagesmjc.org/upload... |

 | | LIFE Master AJ: BTW - the above comment was directed at the troll ... NOT R. Forster!!! |
|
Oct-18-12
 | | LIFE Master AJ: Explanation: The troll CLAIMS to regularly smash his engine, when it was set to a 2200+ ELO. Of course this is utter nonsense, if he could do that, he would have a better PR than many GM's. |
|
Oct-19-12 | | MarkFinan: Errrmm.. The Goldsbug CLAIMS!!!!!!!! to regularly recieve (EMAILS) from fans. Of course this is UTTER!!! nonsense (AS he HAS NO FANS).. He Is NOT!!!! The Justin Beiber of the senior CITIZE♘S chess world.. And word has It that AJ's tweeting now, where he's also making up phantom emails from his 9 followers! See for yourself all Goldsbug fans? 3 more followers and you'll be like Jesus Andrew, but one of them will most likely betray you lol |
