Natalia Pogonina: Two things are clear: 1) Black is worse and has trouble finding decent moves 2) Time may become a huge factor.
Oct-09-09  twinlark: <Altogether, it makes him an exceptionally formidable opponent.>

The thought that he's "just a teenager" doesn't really cut the mustard any more...

Oct-09-09  jeremy24: Ne4 can be answered with Ng4 in the barrel and threatening RxN among other threats...
Oct-09-09  whatthefat: How the picture has changed since I last looked at the board - nice work, Magnus.
Oct-09-09  SCUBA diver: I don't think Magnus should be in a hurry to play e6. ..

tamar: Loses a pawn, but does Jakovenko think he can hold?
Oct-09-09  chessic eric: ain't ain't a word, so i ain't gonna say it.
Oct-09-09  Akavall: I think Carlsen will sacrifice an exchange for the knight on e4.

Carlsen seems to have a nasty threat of 26 b4 Ne4 27 Nxd5

Oct-09-09  Thrajin: <cracknik>, and I am a proposal writer and technical editor who adheres to Shipley standards and strict formatting guidelines. I think we're in agreement here: "Amn't" most certainly wouldn't pass muster in a red team review!
Oct-09-09  drnooo: I still would like to see Carlsen Anand Krammnik and a few of the others play five or six games against Rybka in a tourney. That would stop a lot of talk about who's the best.

I'm going to be hard pressed to avoid sleep puns.

tamar: Oh, I see. 26 Nxd5 Nc5 is a mousetrap theme. Don't think Magnus will fall for it like I did.
Oct-09-09  parmetd: so many good moves for white my biggest problem here would be evaluating which is the best continuation.
Oct-09-09  Thorski: Is 26.Nxd4!? an option? After ...Nc5 27.f6, black's kingside seems airy.
Oct-09-09  FelipeGab: 26. Nxd5!
Oct-09-09  chessic eric: as some on the main event page have pointed out, a Carlsen win puts him at 2801 on the live ratings list. So that may be a motivation for his play here...
Oct-09-09  ILikeFruits: hello...
Oct-09-09  jeremy24: < Ezzy: Carlsen seems to have a nasty threat of 26 b4 Ne4 27 Nxd5>

27: ... Qxd5 refutes

Oct-09-09  Violence: Not really because they would all get beaten down like bums.
Oct-09-09  Thrajin: <chessic eric>, not to mention the pat on the back he'll receive from Kasparov. Magnus obviously paid good money for the training; I'm glad to see it's bringing forth fruit.
Oct-09-09  DrGridlock: Rf4 seems a better option for White than Nxd5 at move 26.

That's absolutely irrelevant. A round robin with a few rounds between them would've been more interesting.

kamalakanta: 26.f6 looks quite tempting...any ideas?
Oct-09-09  marcwordsmith: Okay, another patzer question I guess. If White moves Nxd5 here, what is so bad for Black after Qxd5, Rxe4 Qxd4, Rxd4 Rxe5??
