Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-08-11  Everett: 34.Qa8 certainly allows a quick ending.
Dec-09-11  technical draw: <Everett> I think after black's 33..Qh6 white has no saving move.
Dec-10-11  Sacsacmate: <technical draw> What if white plays Qf1 instead of Qa8...if white queen holds on to the 1st rank..then?
Dec-10-11  Everett: <technical draw> I agree. Do you think 34.Qa8 was merely a swindle attempt then?

<sacsacmate> After <34.Qf1 Qh2#>

Dec-10-11  Shams: <Sacsacmate> If say 34.Qe1 Qe3+ and wherever White goes Black can play...e4 and ...Bf6 and the Bishop decides.
Dec-11-11  technical draw: <Everett> <I agree. Do you think 34.Qa8 was merely a swindle attempt then?>

I don't think so. I think he overlooked the back rank mate. (It happens when you worry about a mate on h2)

Dec-11-11  Sacsacmate: <Everett: ...34.Qf1 Qh2#> I saw this game after getting clobbered thrice on the net by some strong player...no wonder I missed Qh2#..as well as <Shams's> suggestion..

Thank you folks !

Honza Cervenka: White had quite a good game until the move 25, when he unnecessarily tried to clarify the tense situation on the Kingside instead of continuing the action on the Queenside, and then he quickly collapsed after weak 27.Qa1?! and especially 28.cxd5?, when his position fell apart.
