Jul-11-16  leRevenant: <stacase: That took less than 5 seconds.> You can multiply that by about 10 for me.
Jul-11-16  cocker: Simple but slightly unusual tactic.
Jul-11-16  morfishine: <27...Rf1+>
Jul-11-16  apexin: Only took me a few seconds. A simple puzzle.
Jul-11-16  zb2cr: The White Queen is preventing ... Qd2#. But, 27. ... Rf1+; 28. Kxf1, Qf2# works.
Jul-11-16  thegoodanarchist: <Penguincw: ....

And ugh, I did not get this puzzle. :( >

I'm sorry for you. That's depressing.

Jul-11-16  Granny O Doul: Also not bad is 27... Bf2+ with mate in two more.

  Tigranvp: Zugzwang!
Jul-11-16  YetAnotherAmateur: Easy mate in 2: 27. ... Rf1+ 28. Kxf1 Qf2#

But it took me slightly longer than it should have because I looked for queen sacs first.

Jul-11-16  kevin86: A sacrifice decoy move. White is forced to move into mate.

Domdaniel: <Granny O Doul> After 27...Bf2+, don't forget the Black Rook is en prise. Black still should win after 28.Kf1 Bc5+, but there's no quick mate.
Jul-11-16  YouRang: <Domdaniel: <Granny O Doul> After 27...Bf2+, don't forget the Black Rook is en prise. Black still should win after 28.Kf1 Bc5+, but there's no quick mate.>

Well, 27...Bf2+ 28.Kf1 Qc4+! is pretty quick mate...

Jul-11-16  Gilmoy: Pipe sac for the Twitter generation!
Jul-11-16  drollere: this one was easy.

"hmm ... if only the king were on f1, then Qf2 would be fatal."

Jul-11-16  dark.horse: Neat position. Whoever moves wins.
Jul-11-16  BOSTER: This is very strange that such GM like Lenderman moved his king ( 24.Kf1 ) on the same line with the queen, pinning his knight b5.
Jul-11-16  Tiggler: 27... Rf1+ is obvious enough, but as a diversion I looked to see what other moves might win (and, indeed, not lose).

27... Bd2+ seems to work:
28. Qxd2 Rf1+ and the white Q is lost after 29. whatever. 28. Ke2 is answered by Bb4+ etc.

Jul-11-16  Nullifidian: Looks like Lenderman got so focused on winning with his threat of a smothered mate that he forgot to protect his king.

27... ♖f1+ 28. ♔xf1 ♕f2#

Jul-11-16  Cheapo by the Dozen: That's like a tactic from double bughouse -- sac something to make the opposing king move one square.
Jul-11-16  YouRang: <Tiggler: 27... Rf1+ is obvious enough, but as a diversion I looked to see what other moves might win (and, indeed, not lose).

27... Bd2+ seems to work:

Well...I dunno. :-)

27...Bd2+ 28.Qxd2 Rf1+ 29.Kxf1 Qxd2

Yes, the white Q is lost, but the win for black (if any) is hardly trivial.

<Dom>, good point, but do you ever feel like the older sibling who tells the younger ones that Santa isn't real?
