Qi Guo earned her three WGM norms at the IGB 7th Dato' Arthur Tan Malaysia Open in September 2010 where she scored 5.5/9, at the Aeroflot open 2011 B (4.5/9) and at the Chinese Championship (Women) (2011) (5/10).* She won the World Junior Championship (Girls) (2012) thereby qualifying for the FIDE Knock-out Women's World Championship (2012). In the latter, she lost in the first round to Ukrainian GM Natalia Zhukova.

Aug-06-15  cro777: Guo Chi is participating in the 2015 Chinese Chess League Division A, one of the strongest and longest running leagues of its kind.

Twelve teams are competing in 22 rounds (from April to December). Each team consists of three male and two female players.

Guo Qi is playing for the chess team from Jiangsu, the defending champion. Among her teammates are Hou Yifan and Wei Yi.

Jiangsu is an eastern coastal province of China. She was born in Jiangsu.

The next leg (Rounds 12-15) will take place from 20-23 August.

Apr-28-16  cro777: Guo Qi won the 2016 Chinese Championship (Women) scoring 8/11, a half point ahead of the defending champion Tan Zhongyi.

May-19-16  cro777: Guo Qi to participate in the Asian Continental Chess Championships (Women) from 25 May – 5 June 2016 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

She is now participating in the 2nd China Women Grandmaster Basque Chess Tournament (18-22 May) in Yangzhou, China.

In Basque system chess tournaments the players face each other twice simultaneously, once with black and once with white. After four rounds Guo Qi leads with 6 points, ahead of the defending champion Ju Wenjun with 5.5.
