Qi Guo earned her three WGM norms at the IGB 7th Dato' Arthur Tan Malaysia Open in September 2010 where she scored 5.5/9, at the Aeroflot open 2011 B (4.5/9) and at the Chinese Championship (Women) (2011) (5/10).* She won the World Junior Championship (Girls) (2012) thereby qualifying for the FIDE Knock-Out Women's World Championship (2012). In the latter, she lost in the first round to Ukrainian GM Natalia Zhukova.
