Jan-14-13  vonKrolock: Chessbase article <<"A computer program to identify beauty in problems and studies">> Important reearch by Dr. Mohammed Azlan Bin Mohamed Iqbal: <" Composers tend to focus on what we call ‘depth appeal’ (e.g. a deep idea that emerges after careful thought and analysis) whereas the majority of players are more easily impressed with ‘visual appeal’ (e.g. a manoeuvre that looks good and can be understood quickly). The computational aesthetics model is more suited to the latter category; though a case could be made for either type as to which constitutes ‘true’ beauty, without ignoring the spectrum in between."> (showing now the above study with detailed solution) http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail...

Oct-30-14  Lovuschka: So no printed version of my book. Would need to rework it and publish myself, too much work. Feel free to share the PDF, though (see Jan-12-2014 posting, the file is under a CC license).
Nov-10-14  Lovuschka: Regarding the posting of Jun-09-09, unfortunately my friend Iuri Akobia has passed away on 5th November 2014 at the age of 77, according to his close friend David Gurgenidze.
Jul-14-18  Lovuschka: In the rare times I still compose - as opposed to writing the WFCC side project "Study of the Month" on ChessBase [1] (first contact organized by Yochanan Afek for the Studies Subcommittee) - the school teacher Martin Minski turns my ideas into great studies. One that "will be remembered" (Steffen Slumstrup Nielsen) is below.

Mar-26-24  vonKrolock: From MatPlus <"28 April 2023: To clarify:
If you quote old compositions of me, for historical purposes, you should use the old name. As a hobby historian (that I am also) it would be difficult for future generations to find things otherwise. Okay, this might not be to the extent of where last names are changed (good luck looking through sources when you look for the wrong last name), but could still be confusing. But for anything I will publish under my new name, please only use that name when quoting it.">
