FSR: An impressive set of results for a low 2200: an even score against a GM and three IMs (Shaked later become a GM, but was only an IM or near-IM at the time of the game).
Jun-06-13  RFW3: The game isn't here, but Carlin also drew with Bisguire at the 1990 National Open in Las Vegas.
Jul-15-13  DoctorD: When I made a brief return to tournament chess in the 90s to try to capture a master's rating (it was my last chance), my first tournament back was in New Orleans. I witnessed there the worst case of poor sportsmanship I have even seen *against* Mr. Carlin by a certain life master who shall remain nameless.

I was impressed by Mr. Carlin's grasp of chess then, and I always wondered if health problems held him back. He also seemed like a great guy, which is a rare combination.

Jul-15-13  TheFocus: What did this unnamed unholy one do?
