Nov-21-07  ahmadov: Oops, no, Kasim wins against Shark with Black... :(
Nov-21-07  ahmadov: Gelfand vs Anand was interesting as well... Poor Gelfand lost on time despite two Queens...
Nov-21-07  cannibal: Gelfand-Anand was one hell of a game. In the end Gelfand, with 2 queens vs Anands Q+2N+2P had at least a draw (forced queen exchange), if not more, but apparently lost on time.
Nov-21-07  kellmano: <Ahmadov> I don't want to sound patronising, but perhaps you would like to know that the correct English is 'beating' or 'winning against', rather than 'winning' (e.g. X is winning against Y). I do not care if you do not, but i thought you might like to know as it is a phrase you will often use and the rest of your English is very good.
Nov-21-07  cotdt: <kellmano> "winning" is used a lot by Americans...
Nov-21-07  ahmadov: <kellmano><I don't want to sound patronising> No, why... Please, keep correcting my English... Thanks for this note...
Nov-21-07  KamikazeAttack: KamikazeAttack: <cotdt: <kellmano> "winning" is used a lot by Americans...>

But the Yanks can't spoke English well.

Nov-21-07  KamikazeAttack: Anand playing 1.d4 is revealing.

I have no doubt that he can play 1.d4 succesfully agains Kramnik in htier match.

Nov-21-07  ahmadov: Wow, Shark is going to lose even this one against Savchenko, who is not a very popular player...
Nov-21-07  cotdt: <KamikazeAttack: Anand playing 1.d4 is revealing.

I have no doubt that he can play 1.d4 succesfully agains Kramnik in htier match.> Anand understands that playing 1.d4 is a requirement for his Kramnik match, otherwise he has zero chance. So he is getting practice with it now.

Nov-21-07  KamikazeAttack: <ahmadov: Wow, Shark is going to lose even this one against Savchenko, who is not a very popular player...>

Blitz ain't a popularity contest ahmadov:)

Nov-21-07  ahmadov: <cotdt><So he is getting practice with it now.> Hmm, practicing in a blitz tournament for a match against Kramnik... That does not sound very good at all...
Nov-21-07  jtd200: Does anyone have an update on the rankings, now, after round 14?
Nov-21-07  KamikazeAttack: Hang on people, where is Aronian??? He has been quiet of late.
Nov-21-07  KamikazeAttack: KamikazeAttack: Chucky is very good at faster times.
Nov-21-07  cotdt: Kamsky and Grischuk have 12 points after Round 18, Ivanchuk leading with 13 points
Nov-21-07  KamikazeAttack: Everyone seems to be beating poor Karpov.
Nov-21-07  cotdt: Shark vs. Kamsky! He will try to get revenge.
Nov-21-07  kellmano: <cotdt: Shark vs. Kamsky! He will try to get revenge.>

Yes, but he will fail!

Nov-21-07  cotdt: Shark should have played his 1.b3 in their real game, hehe.
Nov-21-07  notyetagm: <cotdt: Kamsky and Grischuk have 12 points after Round 18, Ivanchuk leading with 13 points>

Great first half for Chucky, +8(!) (13-5).

Nov-21-07  notyetagm: Could someone please post the standings at the midway point for the <World Blitz Championship>?

Thanks

Go Chucky!
Go Shark!
Go Moro!
Go Anand!

Nov-21-07  Marvol: Anybody knows why Svidler is not playing?
Nov-21-07  KamikazeAttack: <notyetagm: Could someone please post the standings at the midway point for the <World Blitz Championship>? Thanks

Go Chucky!
Go Shark!
Go Moro!
Go Anand!

Go Kamsky!

Nov-21-07  Davolni: Svidler is sick, he was replaced with Korotylev last moment.
