offramp: Malmo is a coastal town, like <ALL> Swedish towns.

It has the famous motto: "<Honi soit qui Malmo y pense>". That means, <"Why do people hate Malcolm Allison?">

Atterdag: <offramp: Malmo is a coastal town ...>

I can testify that. From my penthouse terrace I can view Malmö across Øresund. A beautiful city, but unfortunately the Swedes have allowed gangs to thrive there the past decade.

Something completely different. Risking to be accused of complaining I kindly ask whoever is in charge for CG, if there is a iota of hope for this site to show the games in the Chess.com Classic - in which players like Carlsen, Nepo, Caruana, Nakamura, Firouzja, Abdusattov and et al participate?

offramp: <Atterdag> I wanted to see the chess.com Classic. There was no chance of chessgames showing the games, as you say.

I have heard that the Swedish government starting to deport recent immigrants.

The UK gov had an unusual idea: to send all the recent immigrants to ... Rwanda 🇷🇼!

That is a wacky idea!

Atterdag: <offramp>. Oh, the Rwanda idea isn't only British. My (Danish) government also flirted with the idea of creating a place for asylum applicants while their case is dealt with by the government. Obviously, the idea sparked a lot of protests, and now it has faded out.

Until recent years the Swedes were on a high horse judging Danes for a strict immigration policy. They welcomed everyone who applied. Now they have the highest rate of killings per capita in Europe and suffer massive problems with immigrant gangs. Consequently, they now begin to copy our policy realising something has to be done.

offramp: <User: Check It Out> I am watching the games <now> on YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/live/xHUGHn...

There is a small addition to the name of the tournament:

<TePe Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament>

TePe? TePe wasn't mentioned in your original letter.

*****

Round 4 is in progress, on 4 boards (for the mathematicians). The games are in their early stages.

  Atterdag: Chess.com Classic.

Carlsen beats MVL convincingly in the match finale 2½-½, thus winning the tournament. Still numero uno in the world.

On 1 July Carlsen has been no. 1 on the ratings list for 14 years! What a fantastic accomplishment.

Check It Out: <offramp> Yes, TePe, curious. I found it: a large Swedish dental products company:

https://www.tepe.com/global

I bet the Sigeman lawyers have straight, white teeth and the dental company good representation.

May-23-25  areknames: LOL, TePe's toothbrushes are the best and softest I've ever used.

Atterdag: In two days the Norway Chess classical tournament will commence. The world elite will be there. Will CG? I ask without expecting any answer.

Stonehenge: CG staff doesn't add games to the database, unless they have a live game.

Volunteers add games to the database.

I have been thinking about that for two days.

Is it a <really> good thing to have the <softest> toothbrush <I've ever used>?

The word <ineffectual> popped into my head.

It's a necessary thing.

I hope it isn't. I'd much rather offramp throw out his used toothbrushes.

OhioChessFan: Ahh, I got lost in the tenses. I meant something along the lines of "It's a necessary thing to have had or have the softest toothbrush I've ever used."

HeMateMe: don't throw out those used toothbrushes! You can use them as mustache combs, beard arrangers.

offramp: The world's softest toothbrushes are made by TePe.

Their toothbrushes are made from 101% kolinsky <sable> fur - the softest fur in the world. They are the softest and warmest toothbrushes in Christendom.

They currently sponsor chess tournaments.

May-26-25  keithbc: Rather a premature resignation by Ivanchuk (vs Rapport), anyone know why he resigned after a mere 25 moves as could not be a time loss yet the position was just not resignable.

  moronovich: <keithbc>

He lost on time. Unfortunately ):

May-26-25  keithbc: thanks Moronovich. That was sad and difficult to fully comprehend.

moronovich: Yes, quite sad. But not "only" an age issue, I presume. As I recall, back in 2004 when he was playing in my country, Denmark, he also flirted with time management.

A couple of times I waved my hand in the air, as "phew, you just made it ! ", and he waved back with the same movement.

perfidious: <moronovich>, my zeitnot was worst of all from fifteen till my late thirties. I managed to improve greatly after reading one of Dvoretsky's works.

moronovich: Good to hear, <perfidious>! And yes, Dvoretsky is/was an excellent teacher.
