Aug-22-16 | | LlanelliCC: Entertaining ending won by Adhiban - two knights versus two very bad bishops. |
Aug-23-16 | | thegoodanarchist: <ajile: OK so now I'm getting very slightly excited. 2 Bogo-Indians and a Pirc!> A hypermodernist, eh? |
Aug-23-16 | | ajile: <thegoodanarchist: <ajile: OK so now I'm getting very slightly excited. 2 Bogo-Indians and a Pirc!> A hypermodernist, eh?>
I just get bored with all the QGDs, Sicilians and Ruy Lopezes. |
Aug-23-16 | | Mr. V: Bogo-Indians aren't necessarily exciting games either, but I guess a change is welcome. |
Aug-23-16 | | PhilFeeley: Go Anton! |
Aug-24-16 | | PhilFeeley: Should have been clearer. Anton Kovalyov of course. |
Aug-24-16 | | thegoodanarchist: This tournament is like Brill Cream- a little Dhabi do ya. |
Aug-24-16 | | lost in space: <<WorsePlayerEver>: @lost in space Oh, come on... it's an American site. Deal with it.> There are a least 2 indications that you could be right: 1. the main language here is english
2. you have to pay in US Dollar for a premium membership |
Aug-25-16 | | Bruce Graham: The shared leadership is now from A (Adhihan, Areshchenko) to Z (Zubov). |
Aug-25-16 | | CountryGirl: I am finding there are lots of interesting games in a tournament like this. Players are willing to play a range of openings, not just their main repertoire choices. |
Aug-27-16 | | Mr. V: My God this tournament is exciting. Deserves as much coverage as Sinquefeld. Saleh Salem beating Fedoseev is certainly a big result for the standings. |
Aug-27-16 | | fisayo123: Kamil Dragun is in clear first. He had an impressive win vs Kuzobov in the 7th round. |
Aug-28-16 | | PhilFeeley: The above table is wrong. Dragun is in first with 6 points. He played another exciting game, beating Kuzubov. |
Aug-28-16 | | jith1207: Mmmm.. Dragun, That's Juicy. I can see a lot of puns coming by the way of his games in ChessGamesDOTcom soon. |
Aug-28-16 | | jith1207: It looks like Top 3 seeds Andrekin, Wang Hao and Adhiban would finish at 6.5 with 1 round to spare. Adhiban and Wang Hao have played only 4 games with White, so they both might get White pieces in the last round, unless they are playing each other. That could be interesting to wait and see the draw for final day. Meanwhile, Andrekin has already played 5 games with White pieces, which should leave him with Black pieces and also might be facing Wang Hao as he and Adhiban have played each other in earlier round. Many others also are looking for a win in final round to catch up with the table leaders in case they all draw in last round. It's going to be anyone's day and that would be a Big Day winning the tourney and also first prize money! Very exciting finish and looking forward to the last day! |
Aug-28-16 | | jith1207: Ahhh. .How I spoke too soon before a game ended! Wang Hao was leading in a comfortable position when he made a slight wrong decision to place his King in a position to allow his opponent to play a decisive trap! Now Alexandr Predke is among the leaders and he has played Adhiban and Wang Hao in last two rounds for 1.5 points! He might be facing Andrekin in last round, but he might get the advantage of having White pieces. Again, I might be talking too early without knowing how the final day draws would be decided in this format. Super Exciting!! |
Aug-29-16 | | tim butler: Kayden is really having a bad tournament. His rating points is "SKYFALLing". |
Aug-29-16 | | siggemannen: Andreikin skips bs lines this time around and wins with the Sicilian against Predke, to meet Amin in the next round to draw for the win of the tourney |
Aug-29-16 | | CountryGirl: Well done again to Australia's Moulthun Ly. A very solid result. He is surely Australia's leading player now, going on form. |
Aug-29-16 | | brankat: Is this tournament over now? There is no action at the ChessBookie's, and the tickets for the event winner have been "processed/discarded" already. I thought there would be 11 rounds. |
Aug-30-16 | | PhilFeeley: Nope, 9 rounds. Andreikin won. |
Aug-30-16 | | siggemannen: Thought this was 10 rounds, congrats to Andreikin, one more open won |
Aug-30-16 | | brankat: Thank You. |
Aug-30-16 | | Mr. V: The second straight Open tournament where Dima has "stolen" the victory from Adhiban: Hasselbacken Open (2016) What a great mini-rivalry. |
Aug-27-17
