Karpov Poikovsky (2003)

The 4th Karpov tournament took place in Poikovsky, Russia 20-29 April 2003. Rest day: April 25. Time control: 100 minutes for the first 40 moves and 40 more minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move one. The opening ceremony in the Neptune sports complex was attended by Alexander Klepikov, the head of the municipality and Anatoly Karpov, to whom the tournament is dedicated. Peter Svidler won on tiebreak ahead of Joel Lautier, both with 6/9. Sergei Vladimirovich Rublevsky got the best game prize for Rublevsky vs Lputian, 2003 (Round 6).
