<As for OTB rating, I haven't played seriously over the board since I had time in Argentina back in 1997. At the time I had an Argentine rating of 2310 and judging from those around me who also had FIDE ratings it was roughly equivalent. When I finally did play after moving to the USA, in the Amateur Team East in 2003, my Argentine rating was confirmed by the tournament director and I was given a provisional 2300 USCF rating for the event. (Not that I thought I would necessarily perform at that level after so many years away from the board, as was shown quite clearly in my terrible play and time trouble in the 2003 World Open later that year!) And while online ratings are built of foam, I maintain 2400-2500 ratings on the ICC and Playchess.com and acquit myself decently against titled players of all stripes in blitz.>
