Feb-01-09  LaFreak II: Wesley So is Champion in Corus C
Feb-01-09  Bluevertere: So drew his game against Howell. Fighting spirit goes ashtray when there is the bait of a 1st place.

That's the main reason so many people love Fischer, he had compromised only with his own illusions.

Feb-01-09  timhortons: CHEERS WESLEY!

wesley so well be playing in aeroflot these february!!!!

Corus now, aeroflot next!

Feb-01-09  timhortons: fischer did become carefull when he knew he had beatin spassky by the numbers and already sure of his world championship title, the last of his games against spassky in 72 match are drawn.

now thats a calculated move from a thinking master.review the profile of the prodigy.

Feb-01-09  timhortons: the same reason wesley drew these game, why take chances?

record speak wesley beat howell 2-0.

he beat him in a convincing manner last world junior championship 2007 and 2008.

Feb-01-09  siamesedream: Congratulation to Wesley So!!! Well done.
Feb-01-09  midnightsun88: Well done Wesley So.
Feb-01-09  timhortons: wesley so and these boy anish giri might meet again and engage in aeroflot.I hope they play in the same category strentgh.
Feb-01-09  flockyguy: Congratulation Wesley! for winning the group c...Wish you all the best in your next tournament! Mabuhay! Sana makakuha ka ng mga sponsor para tulungan ka na makasali sa mga tournament here in Europe. This is the place where you can use your talent to the fullest & SO you will be expose to top level tournament. Again mabuhay ang mga Pinoy!!!!
Feb-01-09  dumbgai: ...did Leon Hoyos just play the entire tournament without a draw? Looks like +5 -8 =0 to me.
Feb-01-09  shintaro go: <Howell will be out to beat So tomorrow, no question.> I just love it when people eat their words. Wesley is the real thing.
Feb-01-09  shintaro go: <Fighting spirit goes ashtray when there is the bait of a 1st place.> Yah, the same fighting spirit Dominguez showed against Sergey. Oh and what happened to Dominguez? Right, 5 black wins is not showing fighting spirit.
Feb-01-09  Jammer: <Howell will be out to beat So tomorrow, no question.>

oh well, no question, so proved he had beaten the rest of gm's in c group.

:)

Feb-01-09  AliMatok: < dumbgai: ...did Leon Hoyos just play the entire tournament without a draw? Looks like +5 -8 =0 to me. > and at least that standing looks good for you. LOL
Feb-02-09  benjobench: i think wesley so is having fun playing in corus,,anyway he deserved it, thanks for caissa...mabuhay ka!!!!!
Feb-02-09  Richelle02: Good job wesley !
Feb-02-09  notyetagm: <dumbgai: ...did Leon Hoyos just play the entire tournament without a draw? Looks like +5 -8 =0 to me.>

Yes, Leon Hoyos went <13/13>, in decisive games that is. :-)

Feb-02-09  brankat: Congratulations to Wesley So for his victory. Best wishes for even better things to come!

Also, young Anish Giri had a fine showing, and can look forward to a great future in the chess arena.

Last, but not least, congratulations to the "old" warrior Tiger for the fighting spirit he shows in every game he plays.

Feb-02-09  veigaman: Fantastic perfomances by wesley and giri!

Chess is renovating with new blood.

Congratulations to wesley and giri

Feb-03-09  nanobrain: Maybe you mean rejuvenating, not renovating. That word is for apartments.
Feb-03-09  timhortons: <veigaman> like me english is a 2nd langguage for our friend here viegaman, but we keep on learning everyday.
Feb-03-09  veigaman: i know more than yesterday!

Thx for the correction!

Dec-14-12  wordfunph: So young, So good!
Aug-26-13  lakers4sho: The barracuda was out tonight!
May-23-16  SueursFroides: Frank Holzke can say that in 2009 he has beaten Wesley So with black pieces, and that he has taken 0,5 point to Anish Giri with black pieces again =)
