 | | keypusher: <I have the highest respect and admiration for Mr Carlsen, and I’m not for a moment trying to take anything away from his accomplishments, but I wonder the results Mr So might produce if he had anything like that level of support.> Impossible to say how good he'd be. But one thing is certain. If he'd been born in Norway instead of the Philippines he wouldn't have a gang of fans and anti-fans going around pissing all over one page on cg after another. It's sickening. |
Jun-27-16 | | beenthere240: I really don't understand the disparagement of So. He's clearly a world class player. To suggest he is a loser and mediocre is simply absurd. Some of the postings are dually absurd -- such as the suggestion that a draw should be counted as a win and a loss be counted as a character defect. |

Jun-28-16 | | Pulo y Gata: It is much more difficult to understand the adoration and worship of a cockroach as a majestic eagle, with several even saying that it is better than the latter. |
Jun-28-16 | | tuttifrutty: Majestic eagle what?
Cockroaches got what it takes to survive in the harshest conditions. One of the best.... Ever. These 7 Animals Survived What Dinosaurs Couldn’t.
1. Platypuses
2. <Cockroaches>
3. Horseshoe Crabs
4. Green Sea Turtles
6. Sharks
5. Crocodiles
7. Bees
Are we clear yet? LOL. |

He ordered the Acme Chess Engine. |

Jun-28-16 | | frogbert: The really amazing thing about Carlsen is that he declined an offer to work with Kasparov when he was 15. Carlsen preferred his own approach to chess training over the one offered by Kasparov and his team. That's unique confidence in one's abilities and methods by a 15 year old. (But why was he offered such a collaboration at 15? Due to Kasparov's great heart and altruism?) So's a great talent and a very strong player. And I doubt he'll ever be world champion. It's about confidence and willingness to risk losing - which is required to go for the win. Unless Carlsen retires early, the same applies to Giri. IMHO. |

 | | MissScarlett: <Carlsen preferred his own approach to chess training over the one offered by Kasparov and his team.> That or Garry's fee was too high. When he was 18, he could afford it. |
Jun-28-16 | | chessalem: <training over the one offered by Kasparov and his team.> Well, your trainer got squashed like a bug losing 3 games , drawing 2 and winning only once by <so>meone with no coach and trainer since birth. http://www.chessgames.com/perl/ches... And Magnus trails Garry losing 2 games drawing 1, and winning none. http://www.chessgames.com/perl/ches... and when he played his immortal game against Garry, Morphy came to mind.... beep...beep...Go Wesley "roadrunner" So. |

Jun-28-16 | | Absentee: <MissScarlett: <Carlsen preferred his own approach to chess training over the one offered by Kasparov and his team.> That or Garry's fee was too high. When he was 18, he could afford it.> I hope he had a money-back clause. |

 | | HeMateMe: kaspy wanted to latch onto the next Big Thing, to keep himself in the news as well. Let's get real here... |
Jun-28-16 | | chessalem: <So's a great talent and a very strong player. And I doubt he'll ever be world champion.> Well, Wesley easily trounced Garry dubbed by many as a great World Champion- this addition to his resume brings us to an inevitable conclusion- ...his time will surely come... coming to a theater near you... <so>on. < It's about confidence and willingness to risk losing - which is required to go for the win. > Wesley emulates "Komodo" the chess engine. He'd rather be <so>lid and error free than wild and lucky. <wanted to latch onto the next Big Thing> that's why Magnus collaborated and trained with Wesley <so>me time ago. He paid for his travel expenses, board and lodging just to get his services... How much did he pay him as professional fee? |
Jun-29-16 | | tuttifrutty: <that's why Magnus collaborated and trained with Wesley <so>me time ago. He paid for his travel expenses, board and lodging just to get his services... How much did he pay him as professional fee?> With no coach and trainer since birth, his services were sought. What could the reasons be??? hmmmmm.... Why on earth would an eagle needs help from a cockroach? hmmmmm.... Do you think it's a cunning, clever, conniving, and creative way to _______ a secret from unsuspecting competitor???? hmmmmmm |
Jun-29-16 | | blackdranzer: Oh cmon... Wesley is a gud player but he still has a long way to go if he wants to become the best...case closed. ..y keep discussing the same thing when u guys know the answer |
Jun-29-16 | | frogbert: <That or Garry's fee was too high.> No, it was not about the money. |
Jun-29-16 | | Kasparov Fan: OMG a 2016 Kasparov has a dismal score against Wesley"cockroach"so and this idiots are using that as an argument supporting his greatness. You wouldn't be screaming if he was so great. |
Jun-29-16 | | Jim Bartle: <It's about confidence and willingness to risk losing - which is required to go for the win. > Historical example: Peter Leko. |
Jun-29-16 | | wordfunph: A cockroach may survive a nuclear holocaust, but after all the explosions and it comes out of its hole it would still be a mere cockroach. "Better one day like an eagle than a hundred years like a cockroach"-- B. Mussolini |
Jun-29-16 | | tuttifrutty: An eagle better than a cockroach? You have been misinformed. hehe For certain, a cockroach disappearance will affect us all globally. We, the earthlings need cockroaches to survive. Their extinction could only mean one thing. We will not survive. Insects are a significant food source for many birds including but not limited to eagles. Humans on the other hand, need food. Please refer to the nitrogen cycle. PS...In short, we really, really need cockroach poop. Tell Mussolini to enjoy his day. |
Jun-29-16 | | john barleycorn: <tuttifrutty: An eagle better than a cockroach? You have been misinformed. hehe> Mussolini was stroking the Italian one-eyed eagle. |
Jun-29-16 | | chessalem: <a 2016 Kasparov>
Well, he beat naka (no. 2 best blitz player then) and fabiano ( no. 3 best in the world who just won the US Championship) in their individual blitz match...flashing his old form reminiscent of Kaspy of yore... Garry's advance years and ring rust were not the cause of his loss to Wesley ...there was none to speak of- i.e. gauging from his performance against the two other participants... When he came to face to face with Wesley he had consumed voluminous liters of water from the fountain of youth... armed with unlimited ammunition /gunpowder and protected by impenetrable armour made of adamantium molded from fires of Mt. Doom. Even then, he was exposed as a mere mortal in the presence of the true chess God... |
Jun-30-16 | | tuttifrutty: <Mussolini was stroking the Italian one-eyed eagle.> In that case he really was _________ He had really lost his pea size brain for if he knew that a one-eyed eagle that finds its way into captivity should be put out of its misery or relegated to life in a zoo. Why? Because to release such a bird is to condemn it to a slow death by starvation. In contrast. a one eyed cockroach when released will go see a doctor and will definitely survive. Heck, a cockroach can even survive within a week without its head..... Who is better now???, You tell me.
If he knew that cockroaches are more valuable than an eagle to planet earth and humanity , he would have pick a day being one instead. BOBO. Such is a life of a know nothing. LOL. By the way, eagles will scavenge and occasionally steal food from one another just like humans and cockroaches do. Now that you know, which one would you prefer, an eagle or a cockroach. You tell me. |
