  1. 1983 (women's) World championship quarter-final

    Held at Lvov, Ukraine in March.

    Also see: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/ches... (place / date-range: Bad-Kissingen 26 March - 18 April 1983 Game Collection: Korchnoi - Portisch Candidates Quarterfinal 1983 according to Tabanus' collection) for a reference to another women's 1983 Candidates' Quarter-final.

    <under construction>

    Held at Cienfuegos.

    Capablanca memorial: M Sisniega vs J L Vilela, 1981 (still need to find any game(s) from 1982 or 1984 editions). Concurrent with Game Collection: 1983 Capablanca memorial (group B) that year.

    7 games, 1983

  5. 1983 Capablanca memorial (group B)
    <under construction>

    Held at Cienfuegos or Havana. I'm not sure whether these were 2 separate tournaments or not (but it should be relatively easier to split into 2, if necessary, from here), with a possibly incorrect site marker. Some of the games appear to be marked with an engine duration and analysis (Hiarcs, 10 seconds analysis, per move) during some sort of blunder-check.

    Main section: Game Collection: 1983 Capablanca memorial (group A)

    32 games, 1980-1983

  13. 1985 Canadian open
    <under construction>

    The tournament was held in August at Alberta and was one of a few tournaments that have allowed computer players such as Awit (Computer) as contestants. Borislav Ivanov would've missed his chance to sign up!!

    The Game Collection: 1985 Canadian championship did not quite seem to allow such entries.

  19. 1985-6 Malmo cycle (women's) Candidates
    <under construction>

    One pgn says 1985 (there was no <1985> women's candidates tournament - the previous cycle consisted of matches); http://www.mark-weeks.com/chess/86w... suggests (February (?!) in Roman numerals on his page, but in <1986>). Held at Malmo as a double-round-robin, eight player event.

    12 games, 1985-1986

  20. 1986 Canadian championship
    <under construction>

    Held at Winnipeg in July, with both Spraggett and Ivanov tying for 1st-2nd with 11/15 (before any tie-breaks were used). Was the Game Collection: 1987 Spraggett - Ivanov match used as some sort of form to select a representative to any international events which this tournament might not have decided (I'm not certain what regulations the CFC would've used back in those days to match the FIDE selection processes)?!
