Dec-29-17  JCigan: This is one of the least impressive GOTDs I've ever seen.
Dec-29-17  Donkey255: <<JCigan> This is one of the least impressive GOTDs I've ever seen.> Agreed!

GrahamClayton: Unusual position after 18.♘xd4 with all four knights in the centre of the board:

Dec-29-17  morfishine: <JCigan: This is one of the least impressive GOTDs I've ever seen> LMAO, clearly this was submitted due to the recent release of the latest Star Wars movie

MKD: What are the criteria used to select GOTD?
Any idea? Any one?
Dec-29-17  morfishine: The strange part about this game is White is a FIDE master who plays woefully below his supposed strength and finds a way to lose to his opponent who's rated 500 points lower

....its not like he's just another schlep punching bag with a game or two in the database

Dec-29-17  posoo: HERE COM da haters TRYNA make Mr. Fridbum ANGREY!

He has BETTER things to do than worey about UR PETTY CLOWNASSES!

ALSO dis game is FUN. LOOK AT ALLL DA HORSEYS IN DA MIDLE!

Also look at da way they DANCE through to da end - SMASHING! AND DONT TELL ME rubka and Stumpfish do NOT LIKE IT, UPLHU ZERO has shown dat smashing is a queston of INTOITION and not DUMBO LINES!

Dec-29-17  morfishine: Here COM duh old <posoo> tripping over his own terrible grammar
Dec-29-17  Delboy: I am all for witty comments, but <posoo>'s attempts at comedy are, I am sorry to say, infantile. As for the game, I too found it below par, though the antics of the knights lift it above some of the forgettable GOTDs from last week. I reiterate my previous plea to chessgames.com to improve the GOTD selection process
Dec-29-17  morfishine: <Delboy> agreed
Dec-29-17  WorstPlayerEver: Here's a pic of her:

Dec-29-17  posoo: it is NOT da old posoo's fault dat SUMBLOME COMADY goes over da heads of da witless!

ALSO anyone who thinks dat i have bad gramar has NOT ben paying atention! There are ZERO gramatical erors in my prior post, only SPELANG. IDENTAFY a gramatical eror ples MORFUDILO! And evryone knos dats been a PROBLUM for me since da trubbles!

Dec-29-17  posoo: but I can identify a grammatical error in Morfishine's post. "schlep" is not an adjective, even though he uses it as such.

BUT WHY debbate over silley things like dat, everyone KNOS dat da old posoo has da BEST COMAND of da language DO NOT FIGHT IT!

I may be going a little insane but please do not hold that against me.

Dec-29-17  rea: I have long suspected that GOTDs are chosen for their puns, rather than for the game quality. I'd sure be proud if I won this game, but then, I'm not a very good player.
