Teyss: "Christmas Deal: Visit Mozart's Castles" (CG deleted some of my pun submissions without explanation so I'll kibitz them for memory's sake.)

Teyss: Would have been a good GOTD for April Fools' Day.

Completely forgot I submitted a pun, indicated the end of the score and afterwards realised I could submit a correction slip, but then except the double castling the game is not very memorable.

Jul-26-24  goodevans: A good pun for the official opening of the Olympics later today.

MissScarlett: I'm struggling to remember a single thing about the last (summer) Olympics. Where was it again?

Teyss: <goodevans> Of course, how could I have missed that? The pun's rating fast goes from 1 out of 5 to a high and strong 5. Completely underestimated Missy's ability to select relevant puns.

<MissScarlett> Must be suffering from loss of memory following the Covid she contracted during summer 2020. Or was it summer 2021? Forgot.

Enjoy the opening ceremony tonight for those who are watching. 1.5 billion viewers expected worldwide. Don't know what to fear most, an attack from drunk Russians or the rain.

perfidious: <Teyss>, see the following game in which Heidenfeld castles by hand--this time all perfectly legal. It was drolly annotated in the book on the tournament, but to my regret, I have not come across my copy in many years now.

  offramp: Wolfgang Heidenfeld struggled on.

Here is the real final position, as above:
W Heidenfeld vs N Kerins, 1973 (kibitz #1).

This wasn't the conjectural final position.

  Teyss: Hi perfidious,
Thanks for the link. Never seen a castling by hand this way: legal, but barely. And the final positon is incredible.

Sally Simpson: I did the same in a game. Accidental illegal 0-0 and the result stood.
