WannaBe: <King Death> Sucks to be you, I've gotten so much $$$$ from the Nigerians, I am spending them on Rolex and Canadian Cialis/Viagra!
Feb-01-12  Robed.Bishop: <Wanna Be> You selfish bastard! There's a young girl in England who's parents just died tragically, of course, and she needs investing help and help getting the rest of her money released. I'll forward her email to you.
Feb-01-12  MORPHYEUS: theagentbit is riotously funny. Heh
Feb-01-12  King Death: <WannaBe> Yeah, I'll just have to suck it up and get a life or something.
Feb-01-12  TheFocus: <theagentbit is riotously funny. Heh>

Yeah, that was pretty darn funny.

Mar-10-12  brankat: Thirty-eight days without kibitzing here. Must be a record.
Mar-10-12  JoergWalter: <brankat> you just broke the record. btw, does anybody know whether <LMAJ> is serving another term of probation?
Mar-10-12  King Death: No, this came out on his page just after the week's vacation ended,

<LIFE Master AJ: For my part, I am done fooling around!!!!!

There are LAWS in place to prevent stalking and cyber-stalking ... and I plan on using those to put a PERMANENT end to the crap from the trolls. (One way or the other.)>

Mar-10-12  brankat: Sounds serious. The Troop will need a lawyer :-)
Mar-10-12  King Death: <brankat> Dial up a number in Chitown will you?
Mar-10-12  brankat: <King Death> Actually we have some very capable lawyers right here, at CG. Our fellow kibitzers, good friends, too. Would most likely be happy to work pro bono (in this case) :-)
Mar-11-12  TheFocus: The best thing about the suspension is that <AJ> doesn't show his face much. Someone said the probation would hurt him more than the Troop. I think he was just surprised that the Admins would punish him too, after years of letting him get away with his foolishness.

I think that <AJ> should stay, but he should leave that smug arrogantness behind; and let the whole <I'm a Life Master and you're not> thing better left unsaid.

No one cares about that title, except him.

I'm not trying to be mean here, but that is the way it is.

Mar-11-12  JoergWalter: <TheFocus> our friend had a little emotional outburst on the chessgames.com page. His post got deleted. Ever since there is silence, again.
Mar-11-12  TheFocus: I thought it was sour grapes on <AJ>'s part to mention <FSR> like that. Some of us, me especially, deserved suspension, but not <FSR>.
Mar-11-12  Jim Bartle: Hold on. Did AJ really post something that was deleted after he returned from suspension? I missed it if he did.
Mar-11-12  JoergWalter: not only that <FSR> should have been added the the cg7. also he claims that the admin's give a "rat's...." about fairness if I remember correctly.
Mar-11-12  King Death: Yes, I saw the post in re <FSR> too and laughed. It reminded me of the second grader that gets caught and rats out the other kid instead of taking his lumps.
Mar-11-12  TheFocus: Here is the post. Still get the giggles when I read it.

<LIFE Master AJ>< You missed one.

When you made your little "hit list," you forgot <FSR>. He certainly should have been in the group that was warned.

But I am pretty sure you don't give a rat's ____ about being fair ...>

Dec-24-22  Helloween: I'm amazed this thread still exists, and hasn't been commented on in a decade. Seems incredibly relevant with the current scandals in the chess world.

perfidious: <Helloween>, the kibitzing was closed for a number of years and only reopened on <AJ>'s games in recent months.

perfidious: <FSR: <Robed.Bishop: ... Oh, and I do my own stunts and bedroom scenes.>

Me too, at least as to the bedroom scenes part. I'm thinking a threesome among Scarlet Johansson, Salma Hayek and me would do a lot to enhance the artistic integrity of the movie. Rachel Weisz is free to join in too, of course. I would hate for her to get jealous and storm off the set.>

I'm all about artistic integrity.

Sally Simpson: over 200 pages of kibitzing on one game. Must be a C.G. record. Tried to think of another game that would attract so much publicity. (though I read a few post at random, a lot of of them are not about this game, it seems to be a free for all thread.)

Game one Spassky vs Fischer, 1972 46 pages

The game that attracted world wide infamy Carlsen vs Niemann, 2022 has a paltry 12 pages.

Gave up. Nothing is going to come close to 200.

perfidious: Ship me a case of Rachel Weisz.
Jul-21-24  theagenbiteofinwit: <Sally Simpson>

There is a reason for this, and it wasn't necessarily because of the popularity of the game. At the time chessgames allowed AJ to rule over his player page with an iron fist, and therefore any comment on his player page that fell short of unbridled adulation was promptly culled from the Goldsby page by the Maestro himself. So this became the default home of unrestrained Goldsby commentary.

I had forgotten about my sparring with AJ over a decade ago, but I recently talked to a young player who attended a tournament in Florida with his little brother, and was treated to an impromptu lecture by Goldsby. I thought this was very amusing because the player was rated 2400 and he found the lecture more entertaining than edifying.

In point of fact, if one is on his dreaded ignore list, one is therefore barred from posting at his player page, which is extraordinary--I am an admin and do not have such a capability.
