  keypusher: <Moszkowski012273: I'm not accomplishing anything>

Not true. You've convinced me that however much Shaw <talked down to you>, he didn't talk you down far enough. Also, congrats on managing to post on a game that Shaw actually lost. Reading "White played terribly" about games that White won in 20 moves or so was getting disconcerting.

So this is you, perfidious? I was wondering why you played 43.b3-b4. Seems like you could have held the draw if you had just sat tight.

perfidious: <keypusher> Don't remember, really, though you're most likely right that holding tight would have kept the draw.
Mar-11-14  Moszkowski012273: Maybe you guys are okay with being ridiculed on here but I am not. If acting like I'm three draws attention to someone who feels like they can, then I will continue to sleep well at night. YES- I went about this the wrong way. BUT- this gentleman will probably now think twice about belittling complete strangers. Admin will tell you the same.

perfidious: <Moszkowski012273: Maybe you guys are okay with being ridiculed on here but I am not....>

You got called out for repeated unconstructive posts, so now your precious ego is bruised.

<....If acting like I'm three draws attention to someone who feels like they can, then I will continue to sleep well at night....>

You need to grow up, just a little.

<....YES- I went about this the wrong way.....>

Most certainly in an immature fashion.

<....BUT- this gentleman will probably now think twice about belittling complete strangers....>

You want to exorcise private demons, find another spot.

<....Admin will tell you the same.>

You made it your personal mission to trash games played by me as retribution for being called out--took a lot of cheek to invoke the powers that be when your childish attempts got slapped down, and rightly so.

Mar-11-14  Moszkowski012273: My ego's just fine. You're kinda cute when you're angry.
Mar-11-14  Petrosianic: <You're kinda cute when you're angry.>

Oh, so THAT's what this is about. He's flirting with you, perfidious.

Mar-11-14  Petrosianic: <Hal Terrie commented that he had never seen such a grouping of the four bishops as occurred twice in this game, after White's 31st and 35th moves.>

Neither have I. But it does vaguely remind me of a game, the players of which completely elude me at the moment. But it's in Horowitz's Golden Treasury of Chess, and features a mate all four of black's minors lined up against the King.

It's also vaguely reminiscent of the odd formation of White Pawns after Move 23 in this game:

Pachman vs Fischer, 1959

Neither had I, actually.>

But I know you've seen similar configurations of knights. H Clemenz vs Eisenschmidt, 1890

FYP

perfidious: <FSR> Never saw that clever grouping with the four knights till now.
Mar-18-14  Moszkowski012273: Are you both really that starved for attention that you feel the need to continue pushing buttons? I mean I do get it. Chess never paid off, constant feelings of unfulfillment requiring the need to post on chessgames thousands of times a year to feel validated, old age rapidly becoming a reality... I see your type all the time amongst the chess-players in this city I call home. It's sad.
Mar-18-14  Moszkowski012273: And what's "FYP"? Your acronyms are far too advanced for this little brain.
Mar-18-14  Moszkowski012273: Ahhhh! Thanks! Glad we have "post fixers" on here that does put my mind at ease.

I'm amazed. I think the first place I saw that game was in Chernev's <The Chess Companion>. It must also be in his <The 1000 Best Short Games of Chess> and surely some others.

Next thing you'll tell me that you've never seen the "rainbow of bishops and knights game," Dodge vs J R Houghteling, 1904. See also V Sultanov vs S Kamaletdinov, 2011, which I submitted. I also submitted these two games back in July, neither of which seems to have made it into the database. Grr.

perfidious: <FSR> If that was in 1000 Best Short Games, I first saw it as a novice, but have not seen the book since probably my days in Class A. Dodge-Houghteling is one I well remember from <1000>.

FSR: <perfidious> I complained to Daniel and he added the games (Clark vs G Burgess, 1989 and NN vs Max Wahlund, 2007) to the database. He suggested that the problem may have been that I did not have 0-1 and 1-0 indicated at the end of the games.

  perfidious: <FSR> Excellent.

It is curious how the software will toss out games with the slightest errors of commission or omission.

Mar-19-14

FSR: <perfidious> Indeed. It would be nice if one were notified of the problem, or someone tried to fix it, instead of just having the game summarily rejected with no one paying any further attention to it.
