Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-08-14  PaulLovric: first
Jun-08-14  Robespierre: Do any of the more advanced players have an opinion about when things started to unravel for White? Was it his 18th move when he took the pawn -- as opposed to retreating the knight to e2 (or attacking black in a more creative fashion)?
Jun-08-14  morfishine: <Robespierre> Good question. While I'm not one of the "advanced players" I get the feeling that White felt he was safe or safe enough, but 23...Rxg2+ was a rude awakening. Even then he almost wiggled out. If you are truly interested, run the moves thru OE and identify when they leave book

Richard Taylor: <Robespierre> I don't know but maybe 8. Ne4 holds Black back. As it was his push on the Q-side was probably too slow. I'n not "advanced" but does this seems to make sense? Good idea to try these things before diving onto a chess computer I think.
Jun-08-14  celtrusco: I believe White should have played 10-c5 instead of 10-Nf4, and afterwards also it was better 13-c5 instead of 13-cd5, then White could attack by the queen-side. The White's plan in the game seems very doubtful. Even for me. It's to much.
Jun-08-14  tasteportero: I probably would have viewed 16. .. Bf5 as a defensive move when it is actually cleverly disguised as an attack. I find that pawn storms such as white's are usually too slow.
Jun-08-14  Nicocobas: <morfishine> "[R]un the moves thru OE and identify when they leave book." Would you please elaborate? Thanks.

Jun-09-14  kevin86: The fork will allow white to gobble up the white rook.
Jun-09-14  kevin86: "No Justus, No Peace!'

PS- Wasn't Justus the losing candidate for the 12th disciple after the death of Judas?

Jun-09-14  Nicocobas: <perfidious> Thanks!
Jun-11-14  morfishine: <perfidious> Thanks for jumping in there!
