Dec-30-04 | | iron maiden: Now going into the final round against Friso Nijboer, he's tied for the lead with three other players, including Nijboer. |
Dec-30-04 | | percyblakeney: On the next ELO list he'll pass Carlsen, and will be rated as the best player born in 1990. |
Dec-30-04 | | percyblakeney: Nijboer-Kuzubov was a draw, maybe the latter could have pressed for a win, since Nijboer was slightly worse and down to 12 minutes for 17 moves while Kuzubov had more than an hour left. But not a bad tournament for the young Ukrainian, van der Wiel can still win it though. |
Dec-30-04 | | percyblakeney: Correction: Karjakin will of course be rated as the best player born in 1990. |
Dec-30-04 | | capablancakarpov: Kuzubov won the Armonie Chess Tournament, with the same points that Visser,Van der Wiel and Nijboer, thanks to the results in games played amongst each other and Sonnenborn-Berger points. |

 | | Penguincw: I know this is probably late, but congratz to young GM Yuri Kuzubov for winning the Abu Dhabi tournament with a score of 7/9 (+6,-1,=2). He edged Tigran L Petrosian 2527-2525 (!) on tiebreaks. During the tournament, he unofficially gained 7.8 points to rise to 2675, as he looks to overtake Anton Korobov for Ukraine #7 (2680). |
Nov-23-14 | | twinlark: Congratulations on GM Kuzubov winning the Ukrainian championship ahead of a very strong field. Winning his last round game after a loss in the previous round was especially gutsy. Well done. |
