Feb-23-16  zanzibar: Was this the player responsible for the now defunct storiascacchi xtab pages?

Those were a valuable first stop in researching a historical tournament.

They're still available, fortunately, but harder to find now - as they live only on the Internet Archive afaik (IA = Wayback).

Feb-23-16  zanzibar: See: http://soloscacchi.altervista.org/?...
Feb-23-16  zanzibar: From the above website:

<SoloScacchi was born in 2009 from an idea of Claudio Sericano, noted scholar of chess history, and in the following years has raised the interventions and contributions of countless friends and leading figures in the chess world to finally establish itself as one of the blogs read and followed as part of the Italian chess movement. Currently it is managed and run in a climate of great serenity and joy, from a close-knit group of enthusiasts who have worked tirelessly over the years to support the success of this site which is based on everyone, and that everyone has a free space to express ideas chess ... and more!;-)>

Feb-24-16  sonia91: storiascacchi is available here: http://storiascacchi.altervista.org...
Feb-24-16  zanzibar: Thank you very much for that updated link <sonia91> (and thanks to Sericano as well).

There are an awful lot of stale links that need to be updated.

Ciao.

Feb-28-16  luftforlife: <zanzibar>: I've found soloscacchi (the blog itself -- where you found the storiascacchi link) to be a repository of elusive and helpful information. I have some Italian, so I can follow along pretty well. Not sure whether you need any assistance, but if ever you do, please feel free to reach out.

Vivi auguri!

Best, ~ lufty
