GrahamClayton: John David Clifford Grimshaw (b. September 12, 1940, Guelph, ON; d. January 3, 2017, Toronto, ON).

John David Clifford Grimshaw was a graduate of North Toronto C.I. With his wife of 40 years, Roberta Imboden, he became a world traveller. His lifelong passion was chess and he became a Canadian Junior Chess Champion in 1959. He was a committed leftist, attending countless demonstrations with Roberta. He retained an avid interest in politics and world events, often recounting facts from the past with his own sly sense of humour. He studied mathematics, physics and chemistry at the University of Toronto, where he also earned a Master’s degree in nuclear physics.
