Altin Cela was Albanias best prodigy ever;an FM at 14 and an IM at 19.Altin Cela was Albanian national Champion 3 times and the first time he won it he was 17 the youngest ever in Albanian chess history.After those succeses he never competed in albanian national championship again,setting his sight in the international scene.Altin Cela played in many international tournaments beating many IM's and GM's and also winning hist first GM norm. He played Top board for Albania in Chess olimpiad 1998 and even thought he had a huge succes he wasent chosed to play for albanian national team in Chess olimpiad 2000.He also won Zonal tournament1.5 1999 with performance rating 2727 winning his second GM norm and qualifing for FIDE World Championship knockout tournament 1999 in Las Vegas where he was eleminated in first round and finished 65/128.Altin Cela was invited to play in many tournaments including : the elite tournament Smartchess.com 2001,New York masters many times and played in many major tournaments but unfortently he never become Grandmaster even thought he came closest one can get.He retiered in 2010 but made the comback in january 2021in New York.Altin Cela is albanias greteast hope for a GM and remains the greteast legend in Albania Chess history. ---‐‐---‐---
