A while ago, Jennifer Shahade mentioned encountering him at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas on her blog, and he seems to play tournaments now and again:

He ended 56th (5/9pts) at the Reykjavik Open 2011 according to (but curiously there are 10 games listed (6/10))

  perfidious: It appears Ariel has even given up live tournament poker, as there are no cashes listed since 2010.

Best guess is that he indeed moved on to something more sensible. (rolls eyes)
