[what is this?]
Grandmaster (2006). Romanian champion in 2007, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2015.

Lupulescu scored 7.5/11 in the 12th European Individual Championship (2011), placing 23rd on tiebreak, and thereby qualified for the World Cup (2011); however, he bowed out in the first round of that event to Germany's Daniel Fridman. He was =1st (5th on tiebreak) at the European Individual Championships (2013), qualifying for the World Cup (2013) where he lost to Indian GM Krishnan Sasikiran in the first round, exiting the tournament. He was equal second at the European Individual Championships (2014), which earned him qualification to the World Cup (2015), where he encountered Igor Lysyj in the first round when he lost the match in the second set of rapid game tiebreakers to be eliminated from further contention in the Cup.

Mar-25-14  JohnBoy: What makes the Lupu-So game notable? Why is it on Lupu's list? Absolutely no comments as of a few min ago. Nothing terribly interesting.

Penguincw: Tough luck to Constantin Lupulescu, who finished with 7/9 at the Baku Open (2014), only to be edged by Ernesto Inarkiev on the TPR tiebreaker (2528-2512). He did gain more rating points however (11.8 vs. 9.0).
