<FM Omid Noroozi (2314) might have earned an IM norm had he not defaulted a game for arriving late.>

Penguincw: Well, he's an IM now.

Anyway, congrats to Omid Noroozi for winning his R1 game against Gadir Guseinov. Guseinov is the 11th seed at the Nakhchivan Open, and is also the highest seed to lose their first round game (however, 5 of the top 10 boards were still drawn).
