Sep-27-13  PhilFeeley: Missing the following interesting game:

Vadim Chernov - Andrei Cioara
Romanian Team Championship, 1998

1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 g6 4. e5 h5 5. Nge2 Bg4 6. f3 Bd7 7. Nf4 e6 8. Be3 Nh6 9. Bd3 c5 10. dxc5 Qc7 11. Qd2 Qxe5 12. 0-0-0 d4 13. Bxd4 Qxd4 14. Nxe6 Qb4 15. Nc7+ Kd8 16. Bb5 Ng8 17. Bxd7 Bh6 18. Bh3+ Bxd2 19. Rxd2+ Kxc7 20. Nd5+ Kc6 21. Nxb4+ Kxc5 22. Rd5+ Kxb4 23. a3+ 1-0

Apparently 3...g6 isn't as bad as this game makes it out to be. It was regularly used with great success by Victor Ciocaltea, one of the greatest players in Romanian chess history.

Lots of variations, especially at the end.

There must be thousands of games like this, untranscribed.
