I've played since I was 5 but never really studied chess that hard otherwise I'd have a much higher rating than 1800. Maybe someday I will try but for now I just enjoy playing and that's enough for me.

Other Chess Info:

Favorite Player: Garry Kasparov because of his fierce competitiveness over the board.

Favorite Current Player: Viswanathan Anand , though I respect Vladimir Kramnik greatly.

Style: Safe and Positional Classical Style with an Occasional Affinity for tactical and dynamic play.

Favorite Chess Quote

"If there was no time I'd never lose a game"

-chessamateur, (reacting to yet another loss caused my time pressure in a drawish position)

Notable Accomplishments:

Not many, but one of them is something that not many can claim. I've beaten someone who has beaten Robert James Fischer

chessamateur: Caruana's nerves cracked. He had a promising position and then made a mistake and failed to adjust to the new situation. Instead he foolishly pushed ahead straight into a loss.

chessamateur: <I think Black is better. The passed b-pawn is going nowhere. In fact it makes the white rooks passive. Black#'s king is going down the board to win pawns, usher black pawns forward or threaten mate.> I meant to say I'd hate to have to play White. I made the correction on

chessamateur: <UrVileWedge: Okay wait, I might be a bit slow, but doesn't Nf1 allow black to play b4, trade the b for c pawn, and then move his king down the b file with a passed pawn? Why did Fabiano move the knight?> White's king gets back in time to stop the pawn and white counters ...
