Beavis: Republicans get to shoot things all the time? We should be Republicans!

Butthead: If you're Republican, you never get any chicks.

Beavis: Yeah, but we never get any chicks anyway!

Dec-18-07  whiteshark: It isn't what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. <It is what you <think> about.>

Mar-23-08  angslo: deep thought of the day!
Let go of the Past,
Only then you move towards the future.
Let go of the Regrets,
Only then you move towards the happiness.
Let go of the Presumptions,
Only then you move towards the truth.
Let go of the Problems,
Only then you move towards the solutions.

Have a nice day

Mar-23-08  angslo: enlightenment is the stae of connectedness with something immeasurable and indestructible, something that, almost paradoxically, is essentially you and yet is much greater than you. it is finding your true nature beyond name and form. the inability to feel this connectedness gives rise to the illusion of separation, from yourself and from the world around you. you then perceive yourself , conciously or unconsciously as an isolated fragment - fear arises and conflict within and without becomes the norm
Mar-23-08  angslo: the philosopher descartes believed that he had found the most fundamental truth when he made his famous statement -"i think therefore i am". he had in fact given expression to the most basic error : to equate thinking with being and identity with thinking
Mar-23-08  angslo: <OhioChessFan: Half the people you meet are below average.> that is not true. 5% are below average and 5% are above average. 90% are average
Mar-24-08  angslo: <PinnedPiece: If there were no <deep thought> page, would <whiteshark> ever have a deep thought?> certainly! <whiteshark> is not only impressed by his thinking but is addicted to it too :)
Apr-05-08  PinnedPiece: Well, I am also addicted to thinking. I tried to quit once, but life wasn't quite the same. I came up with this idea: I am, therefore I think.

The online equivalent is, "I think, therefore IM."

Apr-19-08  whiteshark: <Deep Thought> was a computer chess machine built at Carnegie-Mellon University in the 1980's. It was a predecessor to Deep Blue (Computer), the chess machine that defeated Garry Kasparov in a match. Neither machine exists at this time.
