| | Eric Schiller: It is all over, Sam Sloan won the first Chess Politician Grudge Match, defeating Bill Brock by a score of 2 games to 1, despite Brock holding clearly winning positions in all games. Give Sam credit for resistance and resourcefulness (he earned his $1000 prize), but please don't put these games in databases! They are rather painful to behold. Thanks to the organizers, sponsors and players for an entertaining afternoon of something vaguely resembling chess. The 3 dozen spectators at ICC had a great time watching. |
